Queen of the House

Monday, June 27, 2011

I've been talking about my kitchen countless times already. I hope you don't get bored by what I am about to share with you. I am so proud of myself for helping put together our house. I wasn't really able to help financially, but in one way or another I can say that I have helped a lot. I helped the husband choose some stuff that we put in this house. But he really left me to decide on the kitchen, my turf. Anyway, it's a good thing that he approved of what I picked from these undermount kitchen sinks. He agreed and gave approval of my choice. If you are wondering what it is, this is the undermount kitchen sink that I used. It's the right size for my kitchen and I'm glad I didn't make a mistake of choosing it. It's very basic and it's all I need.

Back To School

Thursday, August 20, 2009

When MIL first heard of it, the first person that came into her mind was me. Well she admitted though that she wanted to take part in it too, but then her hands are full and she does not have the spare time for it. Anyway, I'm glad that I am a part of this. This is like a mobile school, a joint project of Quezon City under Ms. Joy Belmonte and ABS CBN. What are we learning? It's a dream come true for me, HOT and COLD kitchen. I'd like to think that this is a basic of what CULINARY ARTS is all about. It's actually exciting and I am surprised that I still have a lot to learn considering that I am the queen in our kitchen.

The Trusted Brand

Saturday, May 30, 2009

I am satisfied with my Kohler kitchen sinks. What I have at home is the double bowl kitchen sink. I've known about this brand for about 12 years now because this was the kind of sink we used in house number 1. I didn't try and look for another brand when we built house number 2 since I was already ok with it. Sometimes I just don't like to explore other brands simply because I don't want to end up spending more. I don't really mind using the same brand over and over again as long as they come up with new designs each time.

My Kitchen

Thursday, September 13, 2007

This is my beautiful kitchen (imo), I spent sleepless nights (haha how OA) flipping every page of kitchen mags, surfing the internet, just to be able to come up with what I had in mind. And this is the reason too why I cook a lot, a promise given to N just to let me have the hand in designing the kitchen. Nah really, I like spending time in the kitchen, I feel relaxed and can never stop admiring it ^_^

Takatak Queen

Friday, May 04, 2007

Oh yes I'm the "Takatak Queen" in the kitchen, "takatak" meaning I put in a dash of herbs and spices to what i'm cooking (it's more like open a bottle of thyme and "taktak" in the pan ^_^ ) And did you know that I'm not one who measures ingredients? N has been constantly reminding me to write down how much of these and that did I put for a certain recipe, so the taste would be consistent, and he always says who knows one day you're gonna put up a restaurant. And did I buy that? Nope! Me and my stubborn self, or is it more like lazy? I always have a ready answer for it. I only cook for the family and more or less I know how much to put in every recipe.

So here is my recipe in photos of Prawns in Lemon Butter Sauce. (Go figure how much to "taktak") Click on the photos to enlarge

the ingredients

don't throw away the shrimp heads, they're yummy

Note: the hungry people in the dining table could not wait for me to get a fresh battery for my camera so I will be able to take a shot of the cooked prawns. All I hear is "hhhmmm...Mom, this is so yummy". Shhhh, just between you and me, Josh finished 9, and Ish about 5. N had 3 only, but almost finished all the heads (he knows how to pick the yummiest). This recipe goes well with garlic rice.
