My Cafe World

Monday, October 19, 2009

How can I stop FBing when there is yet another new game that I am addicted to. I know you know what I am talking about since most of us are hooked in these cool FB games. First, pet society, then came restaurant city, farmtown, farmville and now cafe world. What's next? I don't know, but this time I will not promise not to play coz I always end up eating my words. I am not complaining though, coz these games kept my mind from thinking of unthinkable things that is happening in my life. These games are still a blessing you know.

Feeling Winter

Monday, October 05, 2009

We are already in the BER months and it's gonna be cold soon. It's also during this months that I love to go up to Baguio. And it is also during this months that I can wear boots, haha. Oh there's one thing I enjoy too, staying by the outdoor fireplaces. I love the heat fireplaces provide and I find it kinda romantic too staying by a fireplace. Huh, am I dreaming? I wish I can do it this year again, but I don't know really. Things are just not the way they are right now, so I really doubt if this will push thru. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

Raise your Page Rank

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

I've actually given up on this website ranking thingy. It can get frustrating. I really do not understand how this thing works. You were once a 5 then all of a sudden you were slapped a zero. Frustrating right? Much as I want to raise my page rank again, I just don't have the correct resources to do so. I heard that paid web directories can really help you get back to where you once before, a higher than zero page rank that is. I will have to look into this since I really want my PR back so bad.

Help Needed

I think everyone knows what happened to the Philippines last Saturday. It's in the news, you can watch a lot of video in youtube too. It's devastating and it makes me cry watching scenes on the news. A lot of houses were wiped out, cars destroyed, and plenty homeless. It broke my heart seeing the aftermath on the day I first roamed the streets after the typhoon. When we got to GMA Kapuso Foundation to donate used clothing, I was holding back my tears...tears of joy that is. I saw boxes upon boxes of donations. It was overwhelming. But I know that more help is still needed. If in any way you can help, a penny will go a long way.

State to State

I wonder if there are still a lot of RV users in America. I have always wondered how it feels like living in one. I only see it on TV and the movies and it seems fun especially when you do cross country. There's really very minimal worries since there is a roadside assistance available. Yeah it would be a nice idea to travel in a RV across the country. It can actually save you more. Just a reminder to all RV users, is there someone who can assist you in case of emergency?

Safety First

Monday, September 21, 2009

I'm not really sure if we are so behind when it comes to industrial safety supplies . Whenever I pass by construction sites, I notice that not everyone is equipped with safety stuff. This is really very important and it is for the benefit of all the workers. As the signage reads, "Safety first." I wonder if they really have that in mind. I think they should since it is really not that expensive to buy industrial safety supplies as long as you know where to get it.

FarmVille

Saturday, September 19, 2009

I am playing FarmVille too. Gosh! The games you find in Facebook are really addicting. It eats up our time if we don't have discipline. Funny how I think about the crops that are about to expire or get rotten. It sucks when you can't get online. It's actually fun to play, you cultivate not only lands but your artistic side too. If you see all those farms in Facebook, you'll be amazed. It's really pretty. I'm going to make my farms as beautiful too. If it takes spending more time in FB I think I would, as I don't have the resources to buy coins, heh.

No To Acne

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

I am surprised and at the same time sad. My zits are popping out once more. I've controlled it already a couple of months back, but in the last two months it seemed like it has gone back, for good? Of course not. Before it gets ugly, I will look for the best acne treatments, one that can control it right away. I don't want to go back to that past experience of having acne, where people can hardly kiss you because of those ugly stuff. Yeah before it gets too late, and oh I might consult a dermatologist too and probably have my monthly facials. I think I've missed 2 months.

Free to Dream

I've always fancied a furnace. Nah I don't want one since we don't really need it. If I buy a property somewhere in Tagaytay or perhaps Baguio, then I might consider building one. One thing I have to keep in mind though, I should get these furnace filters. Are you wondering what that it for? It's for cleaner air. It filters dust, pollens, etc. Looks like I have to do some more reading on this, haha as if I can own a property to those two places I mentioned. It's free to dream right?

It's Chewy

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

I made those today. I say I because initially it was daughter's idea to bake. She sent me SMS when she learned that classes were suspended due to heavy downpour asking me if we could bake together. So I said yes. She did help with the hand mixer, but it was not even 2 minutes. She said she was tired, duh!

Anyway those are Chewy Oatmeal Choco Chip Cookie. And it's real chewy and yummy. It's not that sweet since I adjusted the measurement of the sugar, I didn't follow the one in the recipe book. Oh that's not the only one I did today, I also made stir fried noodles for merienda (snacks).

FB Status : I'm FAT

Friday, September 04, 2009

My status update in Facebook says, 110 lbs. and still counting. This is my heaviest, good if I stand 5'5", but the thing is that I'm a little over five feet tall. Nah, I'm lying, I'm like 5'3" and should be tipping the scale at 100 lbs. the most. That's the weight I am used to, well when I was a bit younger. Now that I'm a little older, I'm worried. I think I will have to do some reading on what weight loss pills are really working. I have a feeling that I might resort to this one day, if I really get lazy and don't exercise.

Driver of the Day

I am the designated driver of the day, oh make that a week already. I've been bringing the kids to school and I am enjoying every bit of it. Especially that I found out that there is an internet shop down the road. I can work while waiting for them, and at the same time I can do FB. Yeah it's fun, it's quite hot though but I can manage. There's a bit of a problem though, if the users here can't keep quiet, then I don't think I can stay here as often as I want to. I'd rather work at home, less stress.

Health Forums are Interesting

Wednesday, September 02, 2009

A lot of people are now conscious about their health. Well I've been conscious about my health too lately. I think the tendency is you get conscious about it as you grow older. Haha I just admitted that I am getting older, but not bad huh, I age with grace. That's what others a saying, alright? Anyways, there's this health forum that I've encountered lately while surfing the net. What I like about it is that they talk about natural and alternative ways of dealing with health problems. I went through some of the discussions and I find it interesting. People there talk about proper nutrition. I love the interaction since I am learning a lot of things just by reading. There are a lot of useful information, some I've heard of it for the first time. People share a recipe or two. I've actually found a few that I think might be able to help especially now that I am trying to lose some weight. I suggest you go check it out yourself so you have an idea of what I am talking about.

Affordable SD Cards

Monday, August 31, 2009

I remember having a 256, then it became a 512, then 1GB, and look now, and there's 16GB. I am talking about this particular sd card. Do you still remember how much it was sold in shops? It used to be really expensive. But look at how much they cost now? The price of a 256 is now the price of a 16GB, even lower I think. I want to have a 16GB so I can take unlimited shots. I don't need to download as often too. What do you think?

I Want Those Knives

Er...what is that knife for? Haha like I want to slit someone's neck, or do I? Seriously I don't wanna waste my time. Those knives are actually in my Wish List. Uh-huh I want to own that before I die. I don't want any ordinary knife especially now that I get to taste some sort of a culinary experience. Yep it must be the knife, those julienne cut are so accurate, haha!

Box from the US of A

Thursday, August 20, 2009

In a year, my sister in the US sends like four boxes to us. Contents include stuff for sale, and a few items for us. I also take the opportunity of requesting her to buy a few things for me, things that I can't find here, hehe mostly clothes. I'm a big fan of clothes, shoes, bags, makeup, etc., after all I'm a girl. I'm not sure though if she uses this shipping box, I have to ask her. You know sometimes her problem is to fill the whole box before she sends it over. I'm not sure if she knows about custom boxes. Hmmm, it's time to use skype and talk to them, after all I also miss them a lot.

Back To School

When MIL first heard of it, the first person that came into her mind was me. Well she admitted though that she wanted to take part in it too, but then her hands are full and she does not have the spare time for it. Anyway, I'm glad that I am a part of this. This is like a mobile school, a joint project of Quezon City under Ms. Joy Belmonte and ABS CBN. What are we learning? It's a dream come true for me, HOT and COLD kitchen. I'd like to think that this is a basic of what CULINARY ARTS is all about. It's actually exciting and I am surprised that I still have a lot to learn considering that I am the queen in our kitchen.

Are You Covered?

My SIL has been suggesting that I get a health insurance for the whole family. At first I was hesitant about it, but now I see the need for it. Who wouldn't want to get covered? What with the low cost health insurance being offered nowadays, it's now for everyone. I used to think that this would really take a great part in the budget, but when I browsed through some of the quotations, not bad after all. I can say we can afford it.

When It Breaks

Thursday, August 13, 2009

When some appliances in the house break, what comes to mind first? Hhhmm, if it's minor, have it fixed. What if it's the motor that breaks? First thing that will come to mind is buy a new one. Yeah, because it has always been at the back of my mind that it will turn out more expensive having to replace motors and all. Well not anymore especially when I came to know the price of this central vacuum motor. The idea of having to replace it with a new one have changed. I'm not talking about vacuum in general, but thanks to the idea anyway.

My Beloved President

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I was so sad upon learning the demise of my beloved President Cory Aquino. I have half expected it, but still. Anyway I was able to pay my last respect on a Monday, the first day of her wake at Manila Cathedral. The experience was all worth it despite the pouring of the rain. I am definitely proud that I was there and already a part of Philippine history. I was able to condole with her son Noynoy too (unexpectedly). He went out to thank the filipino people who sympathized with their family. As what I've written in that tarpaulin, President Cory, you will always be in my ♥
