Met with Thinna in Makati before they left for the States...too bad Jim wasn't able to join us. We pigged out (i guess i was the only one) on Japanese and Pinoy food, who wouldn't, everything was there and it all looked yummy =)

To Thinna and Jim/James, thank you so much for the friendship...hope to see you again when you visit next year. And for the dried squid and fish, a million thanks, we're enjoying it for breakfast...YUMMY!

Thinna, remember your promise to start blogging, i'll be looking forward to reading your entries, ok?

Transformation

Saturday, May 27, 2006

Remember this old old piece I posted in one of my entries in March? We had it restored at the antique shop where we bought it, but we were not happy with the results. DIY comes in again...look what it has become =)

We used ZAR for a beautiful wood grain effect. ZAR® Wood Stain wipes on like furniture polish to add rich, uniform color to wood. ZAR®'s controlled penetration brings out the natural beauty of a variety of wood surfaces without streaks or lap marks. ZAR® Wood Stain is perfect for cabinets, paneling, antiques, wood trim and unfinished furniture. ZAR® can be applied over painted and previously varnished surfaces for a beautiful wood grain effect and ZAR® Wood Stain is recommended by leading manufacturers of fiberglass, steel and Masonite® doors. Nope I wasn't paid to do this kind of advert, but you know, I am just happy with the results and would recommend that you use it. Most things can be DIY. Take it from me!

Home Address

Thursday, May 25, 2006

"You can always have a big and beautiful house, but you can NEVER CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS." Oh, whatever she meant by this statement! This I say, we are happy and contented on where we stay right now, even if our house is located NOT in a posh subdivision where the rich and famous live, this is the area we can afford. The most important thing is we have a house we can call our own, we are in a location that is accessible whether you want to go east, north, south and west, we don't need to go far if somebody needs to be hospitalized, the school where our kids study is like 4 km. away, if I wanna get my fave coffee at starbucks, it's just a 5-min drive, in other words I find our location accessible to every place we frequent.

Addiction

Daughter says i'm addicted to makeup...what makes her say that? oh well...Maybe, just maybe in my past life I owned a Beauty Salon...I am sooooo into makeup ( I collect and collect but actually never get to use it all, i just love looking at them), I'm into nail art too (there was a time that i changed nail art weekly), I can do stuffs like rebonding, hair coloring, I do N's toe nails (cleaning) and a lot more. I don't even frequent the beauty salons now, coz I have my own paraphernalia. I used to have my hair and make up done whenever I go to parties...but not anymore. I'm a certified DIY MoMMa!

A christmas present from ChenChen...Chen, finally I was able to get it from Soria after 6 months =) Thank you so much, I love it!

Guess Who?

Wednesday, May 17, 2006

For now it's Isha who is enjoying Josh's new notebook, a Dell Inspiron B130. I asked my sister from the US to buy it for him as they were having a sale there and we got a pretty good deal for it, with an upgrade in memory (512 mb) and wireless capability. As i've mentioned in my past entry, this is the incentive we gave him if he submits himself for circumcission, which he did last Wednesday.

Josh is pretty much preoccupied playing Kingdom Hearts 2 for now, and he's not at all excited about his new "toy". The first thing he asked me when I got back from the airport to fetch my eldest sister Debbie was "Mom, did Ninang Debbie buy Kingdom Hearts 2 for me?" Oh...such a kid at heart still...

This is another reason why he keeps ignoring his new "toy"... They've been waiting to have this movie, and it's always out of stock in the US. Good thing my sister was able to buy it a day before she left for the Philippines.

And this is my reason for not updating my blog...bleh *sticks out tongue* I'm soooo hooked to it, I've already finished playing Sims Bustin' Out in Gameboy SP and I'm just as determined to finish Sims 2 in PSP...hehe...and ohhhh, the kid in me...YES!

Thank you very my Atchi Deb for getting all these stuffs for us, especially my "tutubi" (dragonfly) oversized sunglasses, and the pretty espadrilles, plus the other stuffs that you gave us. It's not only us who's happy, she must be happy too, coz she got what she ordered from my sis...come on Cuz, update your blog, i'm sure you are happy about your "vanity mirror with light."

Shoutout to my other sister Atchi Rass, thanks so much for the "pasalubong", but it could have been better if you were able to come home too so we could all be together...I miss you so much!

Meeting A Cyber Friend

Thursday, May 11, 2006

I've known Thinna on cyberspace for almost a year now...thanks to Amy, that's where she came across my blog and that of Cuz. We finally met her and Jim (such as lovely couple) today over dinner at Dusit Hotel in Makati. It's like we've known each other for years now, no inhibitions whatever... thanks to blogging...we are able to meet wonderful people around the globe.

I really enjoyed your company, you are such a funny lady Thinna, with all your funny stories to tell (with matching mimicking and all)...I even mentioned to Cuz that you can be a fine actress. Thanks for the wonderful dinner(thai), and thank you so much too for the bag and chocolates. Here's to a wonderful friendship ahead!

DIY Lady

Saturday, May 06, 2006

These are the pictures N took while we were taking a break during one of our DIY days. This is how dirty your hands can get when you do varnish, yep i tried putting on gloves but it just doesn't work for me...my hands can seem to brush, rub and glide perfectly, but what the heck...I can always remove the oil stains using a lacquer thinner. Anyhoo, I find it really therapeutic and very accomplishing after seeing the work done. I already did two shoe cabinets and the bed of my son Josh and planning to do more. It's really fun, you don't feel like your working even if get wet with sweat (proof would be the pictures above), as I gladly posed before N's mobile cam with my signature smile...bleh!

Pancit to Sashimi

Tuesday, May 02, 2006

Got an sms from Justice inviting us to dinner (japanese this time), and asked us if she can tag along a friend. On separate sms, we both answered SURE and hoped that it wasn't...aaahhhhh never mind *giggles*. Anyhoo, meet Wendy, Justice's bff through "thick and thin" as Mommy Ganda puts it, a warm and friendly lady. We had so much fun that night talking about a lot of things and Justice was her usual self, the 1000 words/min. But she did mention that once upon in her life, she was like a "one liner" and I just couldn't imagine her being that.

We were joined later by the MEN (Kuya Rey, Nelson and Job) for coffee at Coffee Bean...and the fun continues...this time talking about our dogs.

Who's Calling?

Monday, May 01, 2006

These are the photos (my personal favorite) of Nelson, Isha and Josh which I added to my contact list in my mobile phone, and am usually overjoyed when I see these photos on the screen flashing, either from a text message or from a call.
