Reviewers...reviewers and more reviewers

Sunday, July 31, 2005

It's gonna be a hectic 2 weeks ahead...i've started making reviewers for the forthcoming first grading exams of the kids...i've been doing this yearly and it's a lot of fun...i get to learn again...being out of school for 2 decades now( yes i'm hitting the BIG 4 next year), boy have i forgotten a lot...it's like learning things for the 1st time...

There's one sacrifice i have to make though...bye bye nail art this time...i have a hard time hitting the keys...it cuts my typing speed by half...duh...or maybe it's because i'm connected to the internet while doing the reviewers and i can't help but bloghop...*bad* me!

After 75 Loooong Years

Friday, July 29, 2005

My parents-in-law left for Hong Kong this morning...after 75 long years, he'll be seeing two of his sisters (the only living among his siblings)...FIL first set foot in the Philippines from Amoy, China when he was 13, and hasn't gone back eversince...yes they have toured almost all of China, but he has reasons only he knows...

i'm equally excited...i even asked him how he feels a day before they left...he was kinda teary eyed, maybe because he doesn't know what to expect anymore or it could be more than that...he doesn't know them at all...i hope language is not a problem here...FIL has almost forgotten his native tongue...but i guess even with the language barrier, the most important thing is they were able to be with each other even if it took them 75 LONG YEARS. isn't that great?

Tiger...Am I?

Tuesday, July 26, 2005

We drove our kids to school since our driver wasn't available...out of the blue my daughter said...Mom, two of my friends say you are "matapang" (fierce...or is this too harsh a word...let's just say strict?)...and i go, what did you tell them? and she goes..."hindi naman masyado"(not too much)...i was caught offguard...i was expecting her to say otherwise coz i don't really see myself as one. I always make it a point to be as cool as possible, BUT i can get pretty strict too as I am the disciplinarian of the house...i can't let them be all the time...and you know how it is with kids nowadays...when they cannot get away with everything they want, they label you as "matapang" or anything of that sort...

Feeling Useless At Times

Monday, July 25, 2005

I don't know, but that's how i feel for a couple of days now...instead of him appreciating you for everything that you have been doing...he makes you feel otherwise...from driving...to cooking...to disciplining the kids...to helping him choose which looks best for the house...geez...everything goes down the drain...it isn't PMS or anything i know, coz it's done repeatedly...so for now...SILENCE it is!

Construction Update

Thursday, July 21, 2005

Almost 80% of the structural is done, and were starting with the finishing now...i've been spending a lot of time in the internet getting some ideas for the cabinets, kitchen, rooms, bath, etc. So far i've borrowed some ideas for the walk-in/reach-in closets and the pantry from Easy Closets...it's really a cool site, you just have to know the measurements and they have one ready for you, and you can do some variations...i did enjoy doing it...

A lot of time has also been spent going to home depots...tiles from spain are really nice but quite expensive though. Much as we really loved it, we're not considering getting it...it's way way out our budget. Anyways, we were able to find some locally made tiles similar to it, so i guess we would settle for that. We were able to find some nice lavatories and water closets too that are made in China. So far that's all we've got...closets, tiles, lavatories and water closets for the bath...there's so much more...i know i'll be spending some more time in the internet (as if i'm not...hehe)...if only i could do it 24/7...

Nothing new really...you see this "famous identity" in the comments section of a lot of blogs...people who are afraid to come out in the open, people who are jealous about the achievements of others...people who have nothing good to say...people who want to be half as popular as the target...people who can't stand up to what they believe in...people who are insecured...people who's thoughts are all CRAP!Hope you are happy with what you are doing...how shallow!

A Praying Parent

Sunday, July 17, 2005

This book was given as a christmas present years ago by my cousin Atchi Arne. I've been meaning to read it but totally forgot...hope to finish it and start praying in specific for my two beloved kids, TRISHA & JOSH.

This book teaches us to turn to the Father and place every detail of our child's life in His loving and capable hands: safety, character development, peer pressure, school, friends, relationship with God, family relationships, adolescence, career choices and even marriage...etc.

The authors says: Whether your child is three or thirty-three, it's never too late to discover the joy that comes from being a part of God's work in your child's life.

With what's happening today, i can't help but worry about my kids...the world is not a safe place to live in anymore...We can't be with our kids 24/7, we worry about them all the time...so why not place their lives in God's hands.

My Mom hasn't ceased praying for all of us her children!

DeTeNtIoN!!!

Saturday, July 16, 2005

I attended the PTC(Parents-Teachers Conference)of my kids today...Trisha's teacher called my attention regarding her school shoes...i was expecting that, since my daughter told me that she already got a second warning for it...third warning means DETENTION!

This is the reason why her attention was called...a heeled 2-in. school shoes...since my daughter told me about it, i thought of an excuse so i won't be buying a new pair...told the teacher that she was kinda flat footed and that she needs to wear a heeled one so she won't stumble...hehe...the teacher goes..."oh, she should have told me"...i thought i was able to get away with my excuse...but NO...she asked me to write a letter so she can submit it to the office...GEEZ, there goes my alibi...so it won't be too obvious that i was just making an excuse, i told her that maybe i can get her a new pair and asked her permission if 1.5-in will do...this time she bought it...but honestly, Trisha is really used to wearing heeled shoes/sandals/flipflops...and when she wears something flat, she really stumbles...

On the academic side, both kids are doing great...It doesn't usually take me long to talk to the teachers...with Josh, it's the usual...your boy is very talkative and can't keep still...but he has high grades...it's more than enough consolation for me and the teacher...

TRISHA & JOSH, keep up the good work! I'm so proud of you both!

Would You?

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Dear Reader,

I'm sorry to say that the book you are holding in your hands is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first page of this book when the children are at the beach and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say that they are magnets for misfortune.

In this short book alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast.

It is my sad duty to write down these unpleasant tales, but there is nothing stopping you from putting this book down at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing.

With all due respect,
Lemony Snicket (sgd)

Would you read such kind of book with a warning written at the back of the book? I did, while having foot spa at Holiday, and i did finish it (it was short)...Now where did Trisha put book 2?

I have yet to read 3 more:
1. The Bad Beginning (done)
2. The Reptile Room
3. The Wide Window
4. The Miserable Mill

I wonder when can we get the rest of the Lemony Snicket Collection???

It's Been A Year

Tuesday, July 12, 2005

I can't believe that it's been a year...i started blogging with so much hesitation...i'm no writer...i didn't know what to post/share...so what i did, i started bloghopping...got the hang of it and became a blogger!

Little by little i got hooked, sleeping in the wee hours of the morning trying to understand all those html codes...until i came up with a layout of my own...i have yet to read more as i still get confused with all those codes...

Blogging has brought a lot of wonderful things...i got to know beautiful people, learn from their experiences...was able to share part of what's happening in our lives, a means of updating especially to those people who live far from us...

This i have yet to learn...although i've done it a couple of times already...write about my complaints, or in other words RANT. I'm too concerned about how people will react or feel...but heck, this is my blog, these are my personal thoughts, if you don't like what i write, then leave or better yet, create your own blog and write whatever you want if you wanna get even! lol!!!

So friends, expect a complete turn around....nah, just kidding...actually there's not much to whine/rant about though...but at least i hope on my 2nd year of blogging, i will be able to bare myself more, without any reservations this time...

Loosen Up!

Thursday, July 07, 2005

Loosen Up is what my belly dancing teacher says...I'm trying, I'm trying! but i just can't do it...that's how far i could go. Have i lost my grace? Oh no! I hope not...good thing Cuz encouraged me to go into it...while there's still little grace left...

So far i'm enjoying every bit of it even if i hear those "two words"...not to mention that it has helped me with my bad posture...i'm now more conscious...i feel lesser back pains...but one thing i'm having a hard time with is "stomach in"...i'm working on that...

Is It Because of TMJ?

Wednesday, July 06, 2005

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It has been 4 months since i was found to have TMJ problems, and 4 months of treatment too...since the treatment started, i've had 2 headaches caused by extreme heat...indeed tmj was the cause of my almost everyday headaches...

Now the treatment has caused me to lose weight...the reason? it's the splint i'm wearing which i'm not allowed to take off...only when i brush my teeth that i take it off...you must be wondering why up to now i still have not gotten used to it...this i say...by the time i get used to it, my dentist has to do some adjustments...so it's like going back to square one again...it's so hard to eat, i can't even chew well, can't even bite using my front teeth...i still have a few months to wait...2 more months i guess, then i'm gonna have braces...at least it's not as bothersome as having a splint in your mouth...

There will be more coming...but the thing is, the coins are out of stock...i just wish that more shops would be selling them coz for now there's only one shop (Dazzle Beads) that i know of...in the mean time, i'll concentrate on the top which doesn't need coins...

I'd appreciate it if any one of you could tell me where else to buy those faux coins...thanks in advance!

I Have To Get Used To People

Saturday, July 02, 2005

Today was one of Makro's Store Tour Dog Show...This is the demo i was talking about...I knew right away that my dog won't be giving her usual A performance, coz the moment she set foot at Makro, she wanted to go back to the car, i had to drag her to the area where the dog show was to be held. True enough, she didn't give her best...she was intimidated and distracted by the crowd...it showed in her tail...she was stressed out...Forgiven, since it's her first time...

The other handlers advised us to always bring her out so she'll get used to crowds...i remember that afternoon we got her from the farm in Tagaytay...she was one happy dog, but when we reached the house, she became quiet and timid...she is not used by all the hustle and bustle of city life...

Then we decided to have her trained...she showed improvements on each training day (she's on her 8th already)...starting with bite works...we are just waiting for all her "milk" teeth to fall off, then we proceed to reverse...actually i don't have any idea yet what this reverse is all about...

Anyways, we followed the advise of some handlers...Yay! we went to Shangri-la Mall after the demo and had dinner there...Yipey! i have every reason to go out all the time, i just have to bring my dog so it won't be obvious that i just want to go window shopping... WHAT A LAME EXCUSE ONCE AGAIN!
