Miss TagAlong

Sunday, September 30, 2007

Wake up you sleepy head! The moment we left the house last Saturday, she was comfortably sleeping in the car all the way to our destination. She continued sleeping in the car while we were working. She only woke up to ask where we were eating. Aha, so that's the reason why she wants to tag along. We used to call her the "ambiance" girl, she eats a lot when we go to fine restaurants ^_^

That's my girl! She wants to follow wherever we go all the time, even if she's tired, she'd still go with us. If she sees us dressed, the next thing would be "Where are you guys going? Can I come?" I asked her why she can't stay put in the house, a quick reply comes "I'm just like Lolo (grandpa), he gets bored when he's home all the time." Haha! Good excuse little girl!

Today we went to SM San Lazaro, and when she learned that we were going, "Can I come?" Told her that we would just take the jeepney. I thought she wouldn't tag along since she's not into jeepney rides. To my surprise she said, "No problem Mother!" So she came. When we were about to alight, I asked her if she knows what to say, with confidence she told me, "Help! Please stop!" Bwaaaaahhhh, that's my Miss TagAlong Girl!

Furniture Store

I love all the stuffs that can be found in these furniture stores. It's the kind of furnitures I would love to have in our home. Take for example their
Living Room Furniture, it's really beautiful. When I first saw it, I immediately fell in love with it. Our living room would look elegant if I put this kind of furniture.

Their Bedroom Furniture is equally beautiful. I was kidding my husband that if we put this kind of bedroom set, we'd feel like a king and queen. It's like sleeping in a 5-star hotel room.

When I showed him this website, he browsed through all the collection but got stuck with their Home Office Furniture. For now he really doesn't like what he has in his office, hhhmmm maybe he's thinking of replacing them?

UP = Street Food ^_^

squid balls & carioca

When N mentioned to me that he was going to have a prenup shoot at UP (University of the Philippines), I didn't have second thoughts of going with him. Aside from helping him bring his stuff and assisting him, I had a different thing in mind. I was dreaming of eating squid balls and carioca. It's only in UP that I get to eat those kinds of stuff, it's really scary buying them from the carts roaming the streets. They say that in UP, those vendors get a health certificate or something, I dunno what it's called really, before they can sell something. So it's always at the back of my mind that it's cleaner compared to those ones roaming the streets. So there, I got to eat my favorite squidballs dipped in sweet chili sauce and carioca. Carioca is made from glutinous rice (ground rice), boiled then fried with lots and lots of brown sugar. YUM!

Vacation Time

Holidays are here again! Yay! For some people, this is the best time to have rest and recreation. Days that one can be away from work and be somewhere else, enjoying and just relaxing. Some people choose to go to Spain for the holidays. My husband's been there and he says it's really a beautiful place. I've seen the pictures he took, and wow! It's breathtaking. He particularly liked Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain. He says that accommodation is never a problem since there are a lot of hotels in Barcelona that are really affordable.

Another nice place to visit is New York. I've been there, and I really like the place a lot. I think I won't get tired visiting the place over and over again. There are many nice New York hotels, so again having a place to stay would never be a problem.

Well this place I gotta see someday, Amsterdam. I've read that this place is very rich in architecture. I've always admired picturesque buildings, and Amsterdam boasts of these. I want to see "the house of Anne Frank" which draws crowd every single day. I know some of you would want to visit Amsterdam someday. And if you don't have anywhere to stay, just remember to look at easytobook.com for hotels in Amsterdam.

You don't need to be a programmer or something in order to set it up. Everything is just a click away. You can choose from their 50 editable themes, or design your own store by using their award winning theme editor. Outdoor Kitchen

I'm happy that we have an outdoor kitchen. You see I really hate it when the house smells unpleasant because of the some kind of food cooked. Normally when we fry fish or cook shrimp paste, I request our helpers to cook it at our outdoor kitchen. It is embarrasing when we have visitors and our house smells aweful.

Having an outdoor kitchen is a must. If you still don't have one, werever.com really builds good outdoor kitchen. An outdoor kitchen that does not warp, rot, or crack. Their cabinets are weatherproof and the most durable in the market today. Why not have your own outdoor kitchen today?

Boo! What's that serious look on your face? ^_^ Shown here is Ish enjoying the Nintendo DS Lite recently given by Lolo and Mama (grandpa & grandma) to Josh. Oh I forgot to mention that they gave Ish a 21-inch sony TV too. Anyhoo, I asked Ish to smile for me when I took this photo. Nah, she can't, as she's too engrossed with the game. Today she asked if she could get herself a DS Lite too. Now she has a pink one, and her brother has a white one. Can Mom have a light blue one? Haha, you wish! Well I can always borrow, anyway I'm the one keeping it during schooldays. Here's to a more relaxing day playing the DS! I need this kind of entertainment, before I snap doing SPs, lol!

Insure Your Homes

Friday, September 28, 2007

When we built this house, the first thing that came to mind is getting a house insurance. I guess this is just the right thing to do, since this is one of the most important investments we have. I have discussed with my husband that we should not limit our insurance to property damage only, but also the property contents. We didn't actually have second thoughts on this, what is a few out of the pocket money we put into insurance yearly, it will never pay the worries we normally have if we don't have house insurance.

What about you? Are your homes insured? Can you go on vacation without worrying too much about your homes? Are you worry-free whenever you are away from your most priced possession? If you want your homes protected from fire, explosion, flood, storm, and a whole lot more, be wise and get a house insurance.

Official Driver of the Week

Our driver is still sick. He didn't come to work since Monday. N's the one bringing the kids to school in the morning, and I'm the one bringing them food for lunch. No, this time I'm not the one cooking. I just can't wake up that early anymore to be able to prepare the food. Nights have been spent researching for the Library Research Report of my son, teaching the kids with their assignments, doing sponsored posts, answering emails and a little bloghopping. 24 hours is just not enough. Internet connection has been acting up for the last couple of days too, that I had to wait til one in the morning. Thank God, kids don't have classes tomorrow in honor of the birthday of Confucious. I'm gonna sit my butt out tonight and try to beat the deadline.

This is what I have been doing while waiting for the kids' dismissal. I started this a couple of months back and have not touched it really since I started doing paid posts. Haha, I'm almost done with the other cup. The question is, when can I finish it? It's only when I wait for the kids that I feel like doing it, since there is no internet cafe near the school where I can spend my waiting time. ^_^ I can't go home either, I need to save on gas, school is like 4-5 kilometer away from our house.

**I think I've put on some weight. All we do is eat and eat while waiting for the dismissal. Imagine stuffing my mouth for 8 hrs, yes that's how long we wait for them. Maybe that's the reason why I have plenty zits too, I eat too much junk food!**

Drug Rehabilitation Center

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

It is sad that in the world today, a lot are turning into drugs whenever faced with problems. There are people who really cannot cope up, and my heart goes out to them. There are a lot of reasons why people go into drugs, and depression is the number issue. They think that by going into drugs, their problems will be easily solved, without being aware that they are creating deeper problems by using drugs. A lot of lives are being wasted, crimes committed, families broken because of the illegal use of drugs.

If you are facing this kind of problem, or if you know of someone who's deeply into it, it's not the end of the world for you guys. It's better that you first acknowledge that there is a drug problem and have yourself treated at California Drug Rehab Center. It's really important for you to enrol in programs that will help you stay away from it. You can't do it by yourself. There are proper programs you have to go through if you really want to be drug free.

A person who submits himself to a Long term drug rehab will go through phases required. It's not easy to treat people who are deep into drug addiction. There is what we call the drug-free withdrawal wherein it cannot be discontinued without physical discomfort, thus Drugrehab.net has found a way without using alternative drugs. They instead use vitamin and mineral supplements.

Dell Desktop Computers

My husband is always consulted when it comes to buying computers. Not that he is an expert or anything, but his friends always ask for his opinion. Maybe because they know that he reads a lot of reviews especially when it comes to computers. He likes to be updated with the latest that has come out in the market. So whenever he is asked for an opinion on the brands in the market, he always recommends bureau pc from Dell. Since he reads a lot of reviews, he is able to compare specifications and prices, and he finds this desktop the most reasonable when it comes to pricing. So when it was time for us to get our son his own computer, we chose Dell hands up. So far so good, we have been satisfied with its functionality.

He saw me eyeing this cutie silver bag, well I was just admiring it really but did not have intentions of buying it. But when he paid for the stuffs he bought, he also paid for the bag without asking me if I wanted it. Maybe it was all painted in my face that I really really like it, hehe! Thank You Sweet!

Visit Australia

Whenever you ask someone about the places they want to visit, Australia is always on the top 10 list. Maybe they have heard a lot about how beautiful Australia is. Everyone who's been there have only high praises for the place, and savouring every moment. Geez, now I want to go and see Australia too.

First I want to visit Sydney, also known as the City of Celebrations. They say that the walking trails is really awesome, you get to see the other side of the city. This will be a very nice experience for nature lovers. Their beaches are good too, maybe I can learn to surf. I'd like to go and see the Sydney Opera House too and take lot and lots of photos, it's just beautiful from all angles.

The reason why I want to visit Melbourne is because of it's mix Victorian and contemporary architecture. I really have a thing for anything Victorian. Again, it would be wonderful playing with openings and exposures of the camera while enjoying scenic Melbourne.

A friend once mentioned that she liked the country drives they took while in Brisbane. I think I'd like to do that too, just pack our picnic baskets and just head to the country side, a time to recharge, and enjoy the serenity and what nature has to offer.

Oh by the way, if you're looking for a place to stay, it's not a problem. There are Hotels in Sydney, Hotels in Melbourne, and Hotels in Brisbane which are really affordable. You'll be amazed when you see their rates, it's like you wanna pack your bags and just head to Australia right away.

Computer's a Must

We are in the age that computers are a must in every household. It makes life easier for all of us, admit it or not. Here in the house, each of us has our own. And why not? There are a lot of available cheap computers in the market. The reasonable prices allow us to own not just one, like in our case we have four. My son Josh owns a Dell laptop, and we are very satisfied with the unit. Even though we got it at a very good deal, none of its features were sacrificed. Isn't it that we expect poor quality when we buy things at a low price? But in the case of Dell Computers, it's not. The features they had in my son's laptop was comparable to other high end brands. Please visit computers.dell.co.uk and check on their prices. Let us all be wise in choosing which brand to purchase.

If you were to choose, what would you rather have, a desktop or a laptop? A laptop or a notebook is the majority answer here at home. And if you ask the people here why? They will always give you one and the same answer, I can bring it anywhere with me. That's the beauty of having pc portables, it can be conveniently transported from one place to another. You can always do unfinished work at home or at any place, do a presentation outside your workplace, do research anywhere, surf the web anytime, anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection. It's the portability that counts a lot, that's why notebooks are getting popular these days. And if you ask me what brand I recommend, laptops by DELL, hands up!

Magazines We Love

It's only now that I realized that we are all suckers for magazines. When I look at our library, a big portion of the shelves are filled with magazines. I don't usually throw away magazines since my kids might need it in school. It's where I get cut outs for their projects. We all love buying magazines, each of us having our favourite titles, even the little ones too. Come to think of it, we really spend a lot because we buy it at magazine stands, and usually pay for the cover price. But what can we do? We are all addicted to it, and seems like our life is not complete without having to read it regularly, it's like having a dose of coffee every morning.

I think it's just right to get magazine subscriptions now, since we really cannot do away with our favourite magazines. Good thing all our favourite titles are included in their lists. Not only that, when you subscribe, it comes with an unconditional 90-day risk-free trial, meaning you can cancel it within 90 days and get a full refund, plus you can keep all the received copies. I might also consider giving this as gifts to friends. Sometimes it's just so hard to find gifts to friends especially if they have almost everything already. Receiving a 1-year magazine subscription as gift is unique, they get to remember you every time they receive their copies.

For all your magazine needs, visit magazine-agent.com, they have a huge selection of magazines for everyone, avail of their up to 80% discount off cover price, and I'm not talking about back issues here mind you.

Hubby's Treat

Thursday, September 20, 2007

We finally found time today to go for our facials. It's suppose to be a monthly thing, but we missed out on August because of our busy schedules. Good news! They got a little white heads today, compared to July's which was really yucky, black and white heads combined. Today I had deep cleansing with collagen mask, they say collagen is to firm the facial muscles. Last July I had deep cleansing too but with seaweed mask for open and large pores. They suggest that I go alternate, they only recommend this two facials for me. She suggested too that I go for power peel, well I have to think it over because it's kinda pricey, I still have to save for that. I don't think N will treat with me a power peel.

Reminder: If you can, you might also want to have monthly facials, it helps especially now that we're getting a little, you know what ^_^ It's not actually vanity, but just taking care of your skin.

No Longer My Baby

I just noticed recently that his voice changed, a little deeper now, no longer a child's. He's 11 and in the 6th grade, now more aware of beautiful girls around him. He came home one time, asking me what "on" means. Duh, it's the opposite of off I tell him. And he was like, duh I know that Mom, I'm referring to the other "on" thing. I actually did not expect the other "on" word. So I made him use it in a sentence. "Mommy, meron ka-"on" yung classmate ko." Oh, so that's the "on" word he was talking about. I told him that it's a word used by pinoy youngsters referring to girlfriend/boyfriend. And his sister explained further. Gasp! my daughter knows more than I expected. Really, maybe I'm just in the denial stage, I still couldn't quite accept that my kids are growing up real fast. Josh has grown a little taller, and he's starting to have zits in his face. Oh no! He's not my baby anymore! But he says, he still is, he does not forget hugging me and planting kisses on my face and with that I am very happy.

Go Into Sports

I have been encouraging my children to go into sports. As it is now, they are not really involved in any regular sports activities. All they do is use the internet 24/7. I see the need for everyone to get into any kind of sports. It will not only help you get into good physical condition, but it would keep you away from bad vices. I always stress this out with my children. My son started going into badminton, but I cannot really make him do it on a regular basis. I asked my daughter Ish what kind of sports activity she wants to go into, and she mentioned that she wants to try soccer. They have soccer in school which is part of their PE, but they only teach the basics. I don't think they have a complete soccer equipment to start with. Maybe I can enrol her to a summer soccer clinic come April. If only we live in a subdivision with a field big enough to play amateur soccer, then it wouldn't be a problem. Meantime, I will try and get them portable Soccer Goals, so they can play with their cousins and just have fun every weekend. This would be a great bonding moment among cousins. At they same time they will be able to brush up the techniques they learned in school.

Memory Upgrades

When I bought my laptop in May, I didn't have enough budget to buy the high end ones. What I was concerned about was just to have a wireless connection only, so I can use it even when everyone in the house is surfing. I was not really concerned about memories and stuff. But my husband saw the need for a bigger memory so he had it upgraded. Now it's my son's laptop that needs upgrading. He is slowly running out of memory space because of the big files he downloads each time. He needs an upgrade in his memory and good thing I found this site which offers Dell Memory upgrade. We don't need to buy him a new laptop as his 2 year old laptop is still working fine. Next in line would be Isha's laptop, she has been complaining that she can no longer download her favorite songs and numerous photos. It is really important that one's computer should have a big memory.

Mailboxes

It has been my longtime dream to have a mailbox similar to these residential mailboxes, not that I don't have one really. Mine is built-in with the gate and not as pretty as the ones I see at plush residential villages. Do you see the picture? That's the one I like, something victorian. Isn't it pretty? These are high quality decorative mailboxes made from sturdy cast iron guaranteed to be rust free.

They also make commercial mailboxes. You can choose from their wide selections, depending on your specifications. And remember, these mailboxes can be modified, you just have to contact their customer service representative and discuss with them the different modifications you want for your mailbox. If you have found the mailbox you want, hurry, they offer free shipping if you put your orders now.

Crime Scene

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

If you watched the latest news about the ambush that happened earlier at around 12:45 in the corner of Makati Avenue and Buendia, I was there! We just finished our lunch and was about to take the jeep to go home when we suddenly heard gunfires. My "angel" thought it was fireworks, lol, yeah fireworks in broad daylight, that's how it sounded. Then we suddenly saw a man on foot (had he been caught they could have done a criminal background check) with an armalite or something, it was long, aiming at the 2 vehicles. He looked pretty normal doing the "rambo", only walking and half running, no panic seen. About 20-25 shots heard, less than 20 seconds, 2 men dead and 2 wounded. It was scary, we didn't know where to go, we were on the street about to ride the jeepney. We went inside the 1st building we saw. When the police arrived, we went to see the 2 vehicles, victims still inside, we witnessed too when they were loaded into the ambulance. They say it was suppose to be robbery, more than six million pesos was found inside the pickup. I don't think those bad elements were able to rob them. Sad that nobody was caught, their getaway vehicles were later found abandoned.

P.S. Had a co-passenger in the jeepney who was really cute, muscular, tall, and fair (a hunk in other words), got carried away with the music being played by the driver and started singing "KNIPE, cuts like a KNIPE" harhar TURN OPP!

Ballroom Dancing

By now you can see how much I really love dancing. I was into every dance you can think of, folk, hawaiian, modern, tango, foxtrot, rumba, and swing. There was even a point in my life when I was much into ballroom dancing. I think I was at my early thirties that time. I was really having the time of my life. Then a lot of things came up, and I just didn't have the time to dance anymore. I think I barely remember the basics now. It's time to do some brushup with my ballroom dancing. And how am I going to do that? Learn again from the available videos from dancecrazy.com. I like their Ballroom Mastery System, 7 dvds of different dances like foxtrot, swing, rumba and waltz. This is all I need to refresh my mind of the different steps that I have almost forgotten.

Art

This is the work of Josh. He always tells me, it's better to get zero than make something that looks like a grade one work! I keep on telling him that it's pretty, but he does not believe me. It's always at the back of his mind what the teacher often tells her students, "grade one work!" I already spoke with the teacher about this during the PTC, and she says she knows how to handle Josh now. My son is quite a perfectionist, so he gets frustrated when somebody has a "bad" comment on his work.

What do you think about his work? That's his interpretation of the Boracay Sunset...although he hasn't been there yet!
