It Can be Avoided

I should say it runs in the family. Name it we have it. Haha I'm talking about allergies. That's why I am really very careful so as not to trigger it. I wish all these allergy relief products are available here since it would really be a big help. I will try and look it up if not maybe I can order online or let someone buy it for me and have it shipped. It's hard when kids get sick, so why not prevent it?

Beach Hotspot in Hawaii

Friday, December 04, 2009

I have not been to Hawaii and that's one place I want to visit someday. I heard from a friend that it's really a must see place before someone dies. It must really be a very nice place. There's another friend who frequents Honolulu too, like they do it once a year. They are probably staying in one of these honolulu hotels. You know why? When I saw how affordable the prices are, and that they give out up to 50 percent off, in my mind ah that's where my friend and her family stay. Do check out the rates if I were you, I saw some 40 percent off on a beach hotspot.

Slouchy Meret

I'll be attempting to do this "Meret". It's actually the Mystery Beret thus Meret. I just got done with the scarf and it's ready to be shipped now. I'll do it probably on Monday since the Post Office is closed on weekends. I know we live in the tropics, but my daughter would really want to have a slouchy beret. I made her a beanie already and this time she requested for a beret. I'll post the source of the pattern when I'm already done with it.

My Vacation Spot

Did I ever tell you that I want to retire in a quiet place very near the seashore? If this is really not possible, I would spend a week or two each year in a place where there is a beautiful beach. I would prefer something like this Outer Banks vacations simply because it's homey. It's like home away from home. The property itself is already a vacation spot aside from the fact that it's located a few yards away from the seashore. This is simply heaven, a dream vacation that each of us deserves. At first I was quite hesitant, but seeing their rates I told myself, oh I can afford it after all. It's like rewarding myself with all the hard work I've done.

Get Rid of Belly Fat

I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it! Do you wanna know the reason why? I found the solution on how to burn belly fat. You see that is my biggest problem now. It's actually parallel to gaining weight. I've put on 17 lbs. and I just have a feeling that it all went to my belly. It's really ugly since I got this really huge bump that would make you think that I have just given birth. I've done a few things that would make it smaller, but it does not seem to work. It's probably that I am lazy too. This time I want to be serious already. I started having salad for dinner, hopefully I get to eat it at lunch too.

Belated Present

This beautiful Ice Watch was a belated birthday present from my beloved cousin Marie. I actually demanded it from her. Well that's how she likes it. She wants me to tell her what I really want. I think that's cool. I would do the same and by that I would be pretty sure that my present would be greatly appreciated. Don't worry, I know what to demand and I don't take advantage, it's not in my system. That watch is actually a present for all the occasions that can be found in a single year. Fair enuf? ^_^

It's time to recharge, to rethink and to fix whatever needs to be fixed. Now talking about taking a break, I think I need one. I found this place online which people talk about. It's quite popular probably because it's really nice there. Wondering if you have a place to stay there? It's no problem really since there are affordable myrtle beach vacation rentals. You would be surprised to find that the rates are really affordable, and having a short break is therefore affordable too.

Graduation Present

My daughter's high school graduation is nearing. I am truly positive that she will be marching that's why I can talk about it. Now what is an appropriate present for her? She likes a lot of stuff but I guess she'll have surprised and happy to receive this Gold Initial Pendant. She's been asking me if I can make one for her. I guess graduation will be the perfect time to gift her with that. Now if I have extra moolah, I can probably upgrade it to a diamond initial pendant which I found in the same website where I found the gold one.

Text Alert

Friday, November 27, 2009

I actually want the school where I send my kids to have a text alert system. A lot will benefit with this thing especially when it comes to important announcements. Sometimes it's just so hard to get through the school's phone lines and it becomes frustrating. Important announcements like class being cancelled should reach all persons concerned at the right time. But in our case it does not. There are occasions that we have brought the kids to school already only to find out that classes were suspended. If only we had this text alert system, then none of this should be happening.

Eversince, this little big guy of mine is so into formal clothing. Whenever we go to formal occasions, it's always a coat and a tie for him. Probably because he can see that formal clothing really suits him and he looks good in it.

And look what I have become, 17 pounds heavier. I look good despite the weight gain, but it all went to the wrong places if you know what I mean. Nobody wants a bulging stomach and I just hate the fact that I have it. I have to work double time if I want it a little flat, not super flat, but just a little flatter.

There's this ruby red laptop that I am eyeing and I am totally in love with it. I am still saving money for it and hopefully I will be able to purchase it early next year. It's hard not having a computer of your own. It's like you are always at someone else's mercy. And I just hate that feeling.

When I saw the shorts (almost the same as what I'm wearing) in the display window of Zara, I immediately remembered my son's old navy shorts given to him by my sister. Nope he didn't get to wear it in fact the tag was still there when I decided to wear it. Then I went thru Ish's locker and found that plaid top. I think that was given by a uncle when he visited the Philippines. Anyway I got the inspiration to wear my so called "boyfriend" clothes when I saw the display. It doesn't really look bad after all. Next time I will be experimenting with the top. I already have an idea what to wear with the shorts next time.

How She's Grown!

Meet Ish, my lovely daughter! That's how she looks now and is already in her last year in High School. She is now preparing for her college entrance exams and is doing her best to get into one of the best universities here in the Philippines.

I just love my relationship with her, she is my bestest friend. I can tell her anything and she can tell me anything too. I call it the best Mom-Daughter relationship. She does not think twice whether or not she will tell me what and how she feels, she is just open to me and I love her for that. I often remind her that it's best to tell me everything so I can guide her and remind her of things that are not really clear to her. Probably the reason why she can tell me everything is that I'm not an imposing Mom. I give suggestions, but in the end she still makes the decision. I'm just glad that she is guided by God with the decisions that she makes.

Acne Alert!

It's in the blood...genes...I'm talking about acne. I used to have it when I was younger, in my early twenties. My father had it too, now my son has it. I wonder if Pronexin would help control my son's acne. I'm really bothered because it's getting worst. I brought him to the dermatologist and will have to wait for the result after a few treatments. Then maybe I will have to find some acne treatment to prevent it from coming back.

Seriously I can't believe that I haven't updated this blog. It's been more than 2 weeks I guess, tsk tsk tsk. What's happening to me? Honestly I don't know...come on...of course I know. I just needed to sort things out, and I didn't know that it will take this long. Nope it's not settled yet, but I am trusting the Lord that He will solve it for me. It's only Him who can do miracles and I fully put my trust in Him. All I need to do now is focus on myself...probably do a few new things, concentrate on my blogs, knit some more, etc. Anything to keep me busy in other words.

Look Who's Playing!

Thursday, July 09, 2009

When I went to visit my Mom last Sunday, I saw one of my nieces play the piano. I didn't know that my Mom hired a piano teacher for her. She started about two weeks ago and I can see her progress. I might consider getting her some piano sheet music so she can learn to play more songs. There are actually a lot of good choices, so yeah might get some for myself too, after all I already miss playing the piano. I have all the time in this world to start loving music again.

Initially it was just Ish and her aunt who's going to watch the concert. Ish was given the go signal to purchase the tickets and I accompanied her to buy it. There I decided that I wanted to watch too. Good thing Ish's Dad was kind enough to buy me a ticket. I'm glad I did even if we were located somewhere at the back where all you can see are heads of the people who came to watch the concert. Ish kept saying she has height issues. I had height issues too, but I came in my 5 inch heel. Don't worry it didn't kill my toes, I love wedge after all. Sound system was not so good, probably because I was used to watching foreign artists bringing with them their own band. There was even a time that I thought Nicole did a lip sync.

Asbestos Can Cause Cancer

Sunday, June 07, 2009

Have you heard about this kind of cancer? If not Mesothelioma cancer cells are normally found surrounding the vital organs. This type of cancer is actually caused by exposure to asbestos. I actually didn't know that asbestos can be harmful until I came across an article about it. I'm sure not many of us know about this too. Some people just do not educate us on this, and I also heard that some where not given the proper gear nor were they informed that exposure to asbestos can cause cancer in the long run. If one of in your family is a victim of this, there are websites that can help you with this matter.

Dream Come True

Yeah it's a dream come true...welcome to my cyber restaurant! It's going to be cyber at the moment. Maybe I have to wait a few more years...that is if my son does not change his mind. It's actually our dream to put up a restaurant someday.

Oh going back to restaurant city...have you played this famous game over at FB? It's really fun and quite addicting as well. You want proof? I created another FB account just to have additional ingredients, haha. Just like Pet Society, I'm hooked. Actually there's one more game I'm playing, and it's nice too. Maybe I'll just share it with you in another entry, and of course I'll be posting photos too.

Guilty As Charged

Friday, June 05, 2009

Why is it that sometimes people get lazy when it comes to daily exercise? I am guilty beyong reasonable doubt. I'm only good at the first few days of the program, after which I have excuses here and there not to exercise. Some people suggest that I use a fat burner supplement since I am not really religious in the exercise routine thingy. I don't know but I might just consider it one day when I feel the need to. It could be anytime soon if I don't stop munching on all the food served before me. It's hard to go into fitness too with the kind of weather we have...very conducive to eating and sleeping. Dang!

I have not seen the finished product but according to the Mom of the debutante, it's really beautiful. Vacation Places

What's so special about the US? Seems like everyone wants to visit this place. My kids, well including me always think of this place when it's vacation time. I've been there once, my daughter has been there twice, but we still want to go back. If given the chance, we're thinking of visiting other states and hopefully stay at one of the Outer Banks rentals. I've seen the place online and I'd like to stay there in one of our vacations. It seems like the perfect vacation place, close to the beach. The houses for rent count a lot too, they are really beautiful and would make each and every stay relaxing.

This time I was thinking of buying an oriental rug. I was salivating on these rugs I found online. And now I can't decide which one to pick, an oriental rug or a persian rug. All are gorgeous actually and they are quite affordable. It even offers free shipping. I think I'm gonna save up for this because I didn't only pick one but four.

I especially enjoyed Lyle Ibanez's collection, nope I wasn't able to take photos so I can't show you some of his collection. I can compare his designs to that of Marc Jacobs. Man he's really good. I didn't try and look for another brand when we built house number 2 since I was already ok with it. Sometimes I just don't like to explore other brands simply because I don't want to end up spending more. I don't really mind using the same brand over and over again as long as they come up with new designs each time.

Soy Candles, Anyone?

As much as possible, I'd like to go all natural in my household. Since the husband is fond of lighting candles in our room, I'm taking a look at these Soy Candles. I am not really familiar with it, but based on what I read it can last like 3 times longer than the ordinary candles we have at home. I also read that it burns cleaner. Hhmm, maybe I should stock on these kind of candle as there are wholesale soy candles available, of course at a much lower price since you are getting by bulk. Nowadays a lot of us are thinking of ways on how to save money. Every single centavo counts and we have to be wise in the kind of spendings that we do.

I am hoping to see soy votives in the parties we go to, or whenever we have wedding coverages. I think everyone is now aware of the benefits of using soy wax.

We had a great time at the Great Wall. It was sooo cold when we got there, sort of freezing (only to us who is not used to this kind of climate - spring). Looking at how much I was gonna climb to reach the first beacon, I was becoming lazy already. At the back of my mind, I just couldn't make it. It was actually a long climb and it was darn high! Do you want to know what changed my mind? I saw a lot of senior citizens (read:old people) climb and here I am, like half their age and unable to climb. OMG what a shame! Anyways I did it, and when I got to the top (1st beacon), I was perspiring like crazy, yeah I forgot how cold it was. It felt good having to climb and it made me purchase this proof (a brass thingy) that indeed I was "man" enough to climb the Great Wall of China.

Tiananmen Square

I was excited to see Tiananmen Square, not for anything else but I remembered this being controversial back in 1989. I know most of you have heard about the protest that began on the 14th of April.

Our tour guide Mae never mentioned about the protest, but instead she said that Tiananmen Square is the biggest square in the world. I know, no one really wants to remember that incident where over 2000 people died.

Tiananmen Square is located in the heart of Beijing. I was really amazed to see lots and lots of people, mostly Chinese. I then asked our tour guide how come I see a lot of Chinese people. She then mentioned that majority of them come from the provinces, and it's everyone's dream is to go to Beijing. Ah no wonder, they are tourists in their own land.

Honest Scrap Award

Thursday, March 12, 2009

This award came as a surprise really. I got it from Q or Sunnysideup who I think is a friend of Kris. Thanks a lot Q.

Honest Scrap Award Rules:

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!

Now, here is a list of 10 Honest Things about Me! :)

1. I am a jill of all trade, but master of none.
2. You can call me a copycat, not that I copy everything you do. I just get the inspiration from you.
3. I still do public transportation even if I have a car that can bring me anywhere I want.
4. I believe that I am kind at heart.
5. I love to people watch and sometimes laugh at them.
6. I hate to see couples doing PDA, especially if they're young.
7. I used to be a shopaholic, now I'm a rehabilitated shopaholic.
8. I'm a loyal friend. If my friend does not get along with someone, I won't get along with her too.
9. I sometimes talk about people behind their back, but I have always been truthful to what I say.
10. I can be sarcastic to the highest level if I choose to.

Now I am passing this award to:

1. Francesca
2. Cuz Marie
3. Jet
4. Thess
5. Jetty
6. MommyBa
7. KC

The Right Investment

I do remember what my father-in-law said in one of our conversations. I think the reason why he knew so much about it is because he has been constantly monitoring it's price once in his lifetime. It was his business and I remember him telling me that the price of gold will never go down even if all the prices of commodities have gone down already. He even mentioned that if we have plans of investing in case we have extra money to do so, it's wise to always invest in gold. True enough if you check on the price of gold nowadays, we can still say that it is competitive even if our economy is at it's lowest. The price has really never reached rock bottom, rather it has maintained. Now if some of you are interested in investing in coins, gold or silver, monex.com is the website to go to. They have been in the business for some 30 years already and right now they are the world leader in precious metals.
