Christmas

Is it Christmas already? Not quite, a few days from now, oh make that three! Do you feel it? I don't, and I don't know why. Probably because there is not much rush going on. I shopped for presents in early November, and I don't think I'm doing any last minute shopping. I guess everything is covered.

I'm just waiting for the spirit to kick in. Hopefully it will anytime soon. This is the first time I am feeling it actually. I guess there's more than enough Christmas adrenalin that needs to be released. Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve

We had a very simple Christmas Eve Noche Buena at home. Our noche buena consisted of Chinese Ham, 3 kinds of cheeses, baked macaroni, grapes, french cookies with strawberry jam, a bottle of red wine and some spritzer for the kids. When the kids came down, they were like, is that what we are having only? You see, they were so used seeing plenty of food on the table, well that was like last year and a few years before that. Yeah, I prepared a lot, more than what we can finish. But this time, I only prepared a few since I was really very very tired. I baked 16 loaves of banana bread to be given away. I didn't have enough energy to cook some more for the night's noche buena. I wanted to give my relatives some freshly baked banana bread. I will just make up this coming New Year's Eve. My Mom and the rest of the gang will be spending it with us. This will be a lot of fun, fun in the kitchen too!

Are You Ready to Celebrate?

Who's reading for the Christmas Eve celebration? I am not yet that ready since I need to prepare a lot more stuff for our "noche buena". I didn't prepare much this time, I think we're just having ham, 3 kinds of cheeses, some red wine, baked chicken wings and baked macaroni and grapes. That is not much, considering we had a lot last year. Well I learned my lesson, we don't get to finish everything that we prepared. I haven't finished baking banana pineapple bread to be given away. I've done 6 so far, and need to do 10 more. I will be making it in a little while and hopefully be able to finish it before tomorrow. Good I'm done with shopping, I was out yesterday and the mall was just full. You can barely move. It's been this way all these years, and seems like everyone didn't learn their lesson, me included...bleh.

All Set For Christmas

My angels finally finished putting christmas lights, after numerous trips to Divisoria to buy additional lights. IMHO, it's really beautiful, and I'd better watch out for the incoming electric bill...OMG! I have to work on the inside of the house though, coz it looks so plain, not as festive as the one outside. Maybe that would be my project for christmas next year and I'm already excited. I'd start buying/collecting materials maybe next month, so as not to hurt the pocket, rather than buying everything all at once.



The Big Santa Claus I wanted to have finally arrived...we got it at such a cheap/giveaway price, had it repainted and it looks new now. I'd have my picture taken next time so you'll know how huge it really is.

The Week That Was

Nope it isn't my first traffic violation...but technically it is, coz finally I was issued a ticket, and he took my driver's license. I have been stopped by traffic aides(MMDA) numerous times for disregarding traffic light, but have always charmed my way out. But last friday on my way to belly class, I was stopped by a policeman for beating the red light. I actually didn't see the light coz traffic was really so heavy (tail to tail) and I was in a hurry to get to the other side (am running late for belly class). He asked for my license, automatically wrote on the ticket and not minding my explanation. If only he didn't have a motorcycle parked, I could have pretended not seeing him, coz there was no way he could ran after me...I know i'm a bad citizen...but who's not? (especially in dealing with law enforcers in the streets manning the traffic...)

Second Grading Exam's finally over for the kids, and that means less stress for all of us. I can now go back to my usual routine. Isha and her friends went to Greenhills to shop and just chill out. Nope, I didn't allow her to go with her friends alone, but with a yaya (nanny) in tow. It's not that i don't trust her, but these are just bunch of 13 year olds.

I don't usually set up my tree this early, but I got bored and had nothing to do, so I asked my angels to put it out. I did not put tivoli lights this time, all the lights got busted and I don't want to replace them for now...I have other things in mind on where to spend the moolah...i'm thinking of getting a huge santa clause that I can hang (santa climbing a rope) in the balcony, and that's gonna be my next project, getting our balcony dressed for christmas.
