Reunion on New Year's Day

New Year's Day was spent in the house of my Auntie Glo. We had a family reunion. (my dad's side of the family) As usual food was overflowing, more than enough for everyone. We actually expected more guests, since my aunt invited more relatives. I brought a big tray of california maki, no I did not make it but I ordered it at Cold Storage. It was yummy! We had so much fun, games were prepared by my other cousins (2nd cousins). Darn The Ferrers either won 2nd or 3rd.

Happy Christmas

Christmas lunch was spent over at my in-laws. I was not able to take photos because the friend of my SIL borrowed my camera. I don't think Ish took some photos too. We were just engrossed with the food prepared by my MIL.

Christmas dinner was spent at my Mom's. She prepared a sumptous dinner too. I totally forgot about ham and queso de bola for our own Christmas Eve Noche Buena. It's only when I saw Mom's Excellente Ham and Marca Pina Queso de Bola that I remembered, boo we didn't have that for Noche Buena. Oh never mind, I'll see to it that we're gonna have that on our table this New Year's Eve.

As usual, we went to watch Enteng Kabisote. For those of you who are familiar with this blog, you all know that it's part of our so called "Christmas" tradition. I dozed off a bit in the middle of the movie, probably I was too tired preparing for our Noche Buena. Everyone enjoyed the movie as usual. And yeah we have an added Christmas tradition. Me and Ish decided to get a new stuffed toy from Animaland every Christmas. I named my bear Trixie. She's cute, right now she's wearing her pink jammies.

I'd like to thank everyone who dropped by to greet me a Merry Christmas! I really appreciate it. I'm sorry if I haven't been to your blogs, work was neck deep.

I'm Changing my Mind

While having dinner awhile back, I was looking at our christmas tree from afar. I thought I was admiring it, but at the back of my mind, I was hoping that we can let it rest next year. We've had our tree for 4 years already, so with the ornaments. So I told my husband that I want a new tree next year. Originally I expressed my desire to have a real pine, but I think I'm changing my mind. I'm known to be setting up my tree either 1st week of November or 2nd week the latest. I don't think a real pine will last that long. I've seen it over at my in-laws. They've had it last November 20, and it's slowly drying up. I think I'll just get a fake tree, one that looks like a real fresh pine. Yep I've already seen one at Landmark in Trinoma.

I Smell Christmas!

Yeah you can smell Christmas in the air at home. We started putting up the tree which took the whole day. My light requirement for the tree is quite difficult and there’s only one person who can master it. It’s the yaya (nanny) of my son Josh. She’s an expert I tell you. It’s really beautiful when it’s lighted. I might put the trimmings tomorrow if I have extra time. But on second thought, I think I need to wait for Saturday so that my darling girl can help me.

Sem Break

Sem Break started last Monday for the kids. It’s going to be a week long vacation. We planned to go to Subic today, but some things came up so the plan was ditched. Too bad, everyone was already excited. I know you’d say what about the other days of the week. Well my answer is I don’t think so, unless we want to be caught in a jam. Yes, there will be a lot of people who will be going home to the province to remember their dead relatives. We already experienced going out of town on those dates, and I swear we will never do it again. Half of the time was wasted on travelling.

Now I have to think of another plan. Oh maybe we can go swimming at the nearby Ace Water Spa. I have not tried it, but my kids have, a couple of times already. Yeah I think that’s it, we will go swimming tomorrow!
