Thanksgiving: Kids

There is an ongoing meme over at facebook and I decided to join it. I will be reposting it here in my blog so my other friends who are not in facebook yet can read about the things that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for the joy my kids bring. They are the apple of my eye and they are my bundle of joy. I can't imagine what life will be without them. They just bring me so much joy and I truly appreciate it. They make life worth living.

Driver of the Day

I am the designated driver of the day, oh make that a week already. I've been bringing the kids to school and I am enjoying every bit of it. Especially that I found out that there is an internet shop down the road. I can work while waiting for them, and at the same time I can do FB. Yeah it's fun, it's quite hot though but I can manage. There's a bit of a problem though, if the users here can't keep quiet, then I don't think I can stay here as often as I want to. I'd rather work at home, less stress.

One Day to Go

Just one more day left, tomorrow Saturday. Come Monday kids are already off school. Yeah, summer vacation for them already. Ooopsie, not for Ish though, coz she is not officially off school. Monday will be the start of her college entrance review and it will run until the end of the month. She'll be off Grace the whole of April but half of it will be spent at MSA for the other college entrance review. Poor Ish, quite hectic for the summer. Josh is happy...you already know why. Stress-free as he calls it. He can play video games the whole day. Oh wait, I need to include fitness in his schedule. Good he agreed to use the treadmill everyday, for 30 minutes at least.

Dialogue

I really admire my son Josh for being able to come up with certain dialogues that melt out hearts. This boy really knows who to make Dad and Mom really special. And here is his latest dialogue : Massage with TLC plus One.Six.Twelve (the vitamin I give them) = Growth. That's what he told his Dad last night after he was given a massage. And it didn't end there. It was followed by a tight hug and a kiss. Kids! They are really a bundle of joy.

Lasik for the Kids

I've been contemplating on Lasik, well not for myself, I don't need it yet but for my 2 kids. They have been wearing eyeglasses since they were young. I know wearing eyeglasses is such a bother, this is the reason why you seldom see me wearing eyeglasses. We've actually discussed it already and we think they are too young to have it just yet. Maybe when they are about 18, this is the time we will have them undergo lasik. And I think someone has to be 18 to be able to undergo this procedure, although I heard of some younger than 18 who already had lasik.

Sem Break

Sem Break started last Monday for the kids. It’s going to be a week long vacation. We planned to go to Subic today, but some things came up so the plan was ditched. Too bad, everyone was already excited. I know you’d say what about the other days of the week. Well my answer is I don’t think so, unless we want to be caught in a jam. Yes, there will be a lot of people who will be going home to the province to remember their dead relatives. We already experienced going out of town on those dates, and I swear we will never do it again. Half of the time was wasted on travelling.

Now I have to think of another plan. Oh maybe we can go swimming at the nearby Ace Water Spa. I have not tried it, but my kids have, a couple of times already. Yeah I think that’s it, we will go swimming tomorrow!

Phew! (*slaps forehead)

I was just starting to read these books again (actually I am done with the first few pages) and what do you know, I was put to test right away. I just couldn't control my anger and my temper rose to great heights. There are just times that we parents get so frustrated and it just breaks our heart. No, I will not stop reading this book even if N does not believe in it, he has his reasons for not believing and I couldn't quite firgure what. Oh well, the joys and frustrations of mommyhood, it's sometimes hard to cope up.

.:: My Darling Girl is Sick ::.

2 days ago, Isha requested our driver if he could bring her home right away coz she was not feeling well. She had a headache caused by colds. The moment she got home, she went straight to bed and fell asleep. We just woke her up to have dinner. I asked her if she was going to school the following day, to which she said yes, anyway she didn't have fever, and she had some quizzes to take. Before she left for school, I checked if she was running a fever, which she was not, so I allowed her to go to school. I was surprised to get a call from her that afternoon, that she was already on her way home, she was sent home by the school. Her yaya (nanny) fetched her coz we had the driver with us. They were not able to hail a cab, so they took the public transportation. When I got home, I asked her if she remembered how to take the public transpo (this was her first actually), to which she replied, "nope, I was too sick to remember anything". Haha, good answer! You see there's this running joke in the family about taking public transpo, not that I don't like them to ride the jeepney or commute, in fact I want them to learn taking the jeep or bus.

Anyhoo, she was absent from class today. We got a call from the office confirming if she was indeed sick. This is really weird, this was the 1st time we got a call from them. They've been with that school for 10 years already. On with the story. When we got home from school, finding his sister in his room, Josh gave her a bear hug. Hhhhmmmm, he's sweet, NOT! Do you know why he hugged his sister? He wants to catch the bug, so he won't be able to go to school and just use the internet the whole day. Yes, that's my darling boy!

Ish is quite well already and she'll go to school tomorrow, though she still has colds and cough.
