I Love Watching in His New HDTV

His old television set is still working. But apparently it does not work anymore (he thinks that it does not) with his gadgets. One day he came to us. Mom, Dad, I need a new TV so bad. And I was like, but the TV in your room is still working. But I want this LCD HDTV I saw at the mall. Oh you'd be happy if I tell you that they are on sale right now. The price used to be really high, and now they've taken off quite a big amount. I think it's a great deal Mom. How convincing can your children get? Mine is really very very convincing. But even if he is, reality is it still depends on our budget and if we have an extra to spare.

He's now 14

Thank you Lord for adding another year to my son's life. I pray that he will continue to love and serve you. I pray that you will grant him good health. I pray that you will help him with his studies. Lord guide him in his everyday life, teach him to be what you want him to be. Lord I pray that I will be able to raise them to be good Christians, always abiding in your will.

A Tux for Him

"Hey Dad! I need you to take my photo...it's for my profile pic in Facebook." That's my son talking. And he wants to have his picture taken in coat and tie which he wore only once and does not fit him anymore. He's even talking about getting a new tuxedo. Eversince, this little big guy of mine is so into formal clothing. Whenever we go to formal occasions, it's always a coat and a tie for him. Probably because he can see that formal clothing really suits him and he looks good in it.

Poor Kid

My son is sick. He had fever last week on Sunday but was well already on Tuesday. I sent him to school on Wednesday just to make sure that no relapse is happening. Everything was alright until Friday night. He had fever again. I brought him to his pedia on Saturday, and some tests were done namely urinalysis and blood. This is to find out if he has Dengue. I'm a bit worried needless to say. Sometimes I am ashamed of myself to worry too much. It's as if I don't have a big God who is a great healer. I am going to get the results today, and am praying that it's nothing serious.

Driver of the Day

I am the designated driver of the day, oh make that a week already. I've been bringing the kids to school and I am enjoying every bit of it. Especially that I found out that there is an internet shop down the road. I can work while waiting for them, and at the same time I can do FB. Yeah it's fun, it's quite hot though but I can manage. There's a bit of a problem though, if the users here can't keep quiet, then I don't think I can stay here as often as I want to. I'd rather work at home, less stress.

The Birthday Boy

We had two celebrations for my son's 13th birthday. Initially he wanted to celebrate it at Friday's, but since the olds do not want it there, we opted for a chinese restaurant instead. This was done a day prior to his birthday. We feasted on all his favorite dishes.

We surprised him with a Friday's treat right on his birthday. Of course wish granted for our little big boy. Again, he had all he wanted, including some time at Timezone.

I'm really proud of my son. He's grown up to be a fine young man, a son any mother can wish for. He has his moods, but generally he's a very sweet boy. He says his piece, but he does not sound rude at all. He has his moments though, like any kid would have, but he is not difficult. We love you son!

Dialogue

I really admire my son Josh for being able to come up with certain dialogues that melt out hearts. This boy really knows who to make Dad and Mom really special. And here is his latest dialogue : Massage with TLC plus One.Six.Twelve (the vitamin I give them) = Growth. That's what he told his Dad last night after he was given a massage. And it didn't end there. It was followed by a tight hug and a kiss. Kids! They are really a bundle of joy.

Lasik for the Kids

I've been contemplating on Lasik, well not for myself, I don't need it yet but for my 2 kids. They have been wearing eyeglasses since they were young. I know wearing eyeglasses is such a bother, this is the reason why you seldom see me wearing eyeglasses. We've actually discussed it already and we think they are too young to have it just yet. Maybe when they are about 18, this is the time we will have them undergo lasik. And I think someone has to be 18 to be able to undergo this procedure, although I heard of some younger than 18 who already had lasik.

10 Years Younger

That was how I looked when I attended the concert last Saturday. When my son saw me, he was like "Wow! You look 10 years younger Mom! It's probably the clothes that you wear." And I said really? So you want me to dress up like this all the time? I was expecting for a big YES, but here's what he said. "Nah, I don't think so. I want you to be simple." Boo! This son of mine is quite conservative, but he knows how to appreciate though. While in the car on the way to the concert, we talked about him. N said that he thinks Josh would be quite strict with the woman in his life. I think he is, with his remarks and comments he should be getting someone who is really submissive. I hope that is just for now.

**Looking 10 years younger is just the opinion of my son. It may not show in the photo, lol!

Dad Committed Adultery?

This is really a funny conversation that happened between me and my son Josh plus our driver. We were cruising Makati Avenue on our way home from Rockwell.

Driver: Ma'am di ba dati one way ito? (This used to be one way)

Me: OO (yes)

Driver: Naalala ko nung isang wedding coverage namin ni Sir. Pinasok namin to, hinuli kami ng pulis. Buti mabilis mag-isip si Sir. Sinabi sa pulis late na sya sa kasal nya. Buti nalang naka americana sya. (I remember passing this street, the policeman stopped us and told us that it's one way. Good thing Sir immediately thought of something. He told the police that he was getting married and he was late already. Good thing he was wearing a suit.)

Josh: Mom, you didn't get offended when you heard that story?

Me: Why should I?

Josh: You know Daddy committed adultery.

Still Sick

I thought I was feeling well already because of the medication. I slept quite early last night, to give my body a much needed rest, so that I will be able to wake up recharged. I woke up at 7 in the morning, but could not even drag myself up. I decided just to stay home and not work anymore. I don't want to spend New Year in bed! Boo to that! I slept the whole time, waking up only just to have lunch and dinner. Well I did a 1 opportunity though but that was it. I was again sleepy, so I gave in. Waaahhh, now I can't sleep, I'm still a little feverish, cough and colds not improving. Josh came to my room and told me, "Mom, I prayed to God that you will not die." I was like what? Of course I'm not gonna die, it's just a simple fever, cough and colds, and nothing serious. He always tells that whenever I'm sick. He always prays that I will not die.

The Boy Who Turned 12

That's me and my darling boy. That was taken during his birthday, the 15th of December. We had a small dinner over at a chinese restaurant at Mall of Asia. We asked him what he wanted to have on this special day. All he wanted was Noodles with Soup. So I got him Beef and Wanton Noodles. At first he wanted some Crabs (that to him is good food), but later he changed his mind.

Anyway, what's with the number 12? The day he turned 12, he transformed into a typical teenager. I think he now takes interest in girls, talking about them almost everyday. I told him that I was happy with that (ahem), not that I wanna be a grandmother soon, but really. I'm as excited as him. I love listening to his stories.

Sad...But Why?

We went to watch The Game Plan last night in the movie house. Yes we enjoyed the movie so much, but it could have been better is all four of us watched. But as it is, my darling boy Josh didn’t like to come with us. I don’t like to force him because I don’t want to create friction between the two of us, neither do his dad. I did a lot of convincing for him to join us, but it was all in vain. He wants to be left at home, it seems that this online gaming is pretty much taking so much of his time. I miss the time that the kids can tag along wherever we were going. I miss the time that they will not allow us to leave without them in tow. My oh my how time flies. Now they choose their own activities. FYI, I do require them to come with us if it is necessary, which I don’t accept no for an answer.

Boy Magnet

I often hear Josh call/refer to his sister as “boy magnet”. It’s like when I admire Ish with anything, next the words that will come out of Joshua’s mouth would be “boy magnet”. While we were having lunch awhile back I asked him what “boy magnet” means. And he was like, “Duh! Mommy it’s the things that you do that attracts boys. You know, like how you fix your hair, the clothes that you wear.” I suddenly fixed my hair “Isha Style”, then said, like this Josh? Do I qualify? And he was like… “For the love of …Noooooo, you are already married!” Haha, as if I don’t know that. What’s funny, their Dad reacted, saying “No boy magnet for you, you are married.” DUH!

Butterfly Kisses

I’ve been getting a lot of “butterfly kisses” from my darling boy lately, he has been soooo sweet, often embracing me too. One day he hugged me tight, and threw kisses left and right. I didn’t react coz I know he needed something from me. Then he said, “Mom, are you not gonna ask what’s the catch?” I said nope! He hugged me tighter and said, “Mom can I ask for 500 pesos for my level up card?” And I was like what? Mom does not have enough moolah. And he goes, “who says, you are in the number one spot of the top earner of the day and now you say you don’t have moolah?” Haha, me and my big mouth, I couldn’t stop myself from showing him that page where I was in the number one spot. And he said “for pete’s sake, I was only asking for 500 every holiday, and how many holidays are there in a year?” I was tongue tied, now I owe him 500 for November 1 which is All Souls Day, hehe, yeah, this one included in his holiday list.

**I don’t know if I have to get angry with him for saying “for pete’s sake”, but as it is I found it funny!**

The New Meaning of TLC

Up until now Josh still goes for his nightly massage. It's either me or his dad, sometimes if he's not contented he'd like both of us to do it. Yeah that happens every night before he goes to bed. His choice would be either "classic" or "machine". One night he opted for a classic massage. His dad asked him why he wanted a classic one instead of the machine. And here's his candid reply, "I want the classic this time dad." Then his dad asked why. "It has TLC," he said. And what does TLC means? Tender loving "CASH".

You see he has been working hard in school, especially in his last grading exam week. I made a deal with him that if he does not get lower than 90 in all his subjects, I will give him P1000 (around $22). That's big money to him already, for his level up card (he plays flyff). We just don't give them money, we make it as an incentive for them to study harder. So now he's finding ways on how have this money for his game. This child of mine is really funny, he always makes us laugh with his candidness. He can inject money matters in his conversation which is cute, he never fails to bring a smile to our faces.

Not that B.O.R.E.D anymore!

Last saturday, my son Josh requested if I could drive him somewhere (I don't have a clue where, I'll just follow his navigation) to buy his level up card for this online game FLYFF he plays. Little did we know that the card was available in a store just a few steps away from our house.

Then I asked him, let's go on a date, "don't call it that Mom!". Make it let's hangout nah, let's call it bonding instead. Hehe, even with the choice of words, he is very particular. Is it really like this? Having kids who are in an awkward stage? Every word has go through the "board of censors". Arrrggghhh, I don't think I can put up with this.

Anyway, here's what he had. He said he's gonna forget about dieting. NO DIET indeed!

I was able to chat with KC the other night, yay! See I told yah people, I can forget about the boredom! So that's one off my list! I played video games too, borrowed my daughter's DS Lite, and guess what? I enjoyed playing Cooking Momma, hehe so funny me. ^_^ So that's another off the list, yayness!

Please Don't

When my boy got home from school the other day, this is what he said when he saw me. "Mom, please don't blog about me anymore." Apparently, a classmate has been reading my blog. She teased my son about the "tub pictures" she saw in my blog which I posted a year ago. He was embarrassed to the max. And he's making me delete it. It sucks having to limit yourself to the kinds of posts you will be doing, and I kinda hate it. But then again, I guess it's time. I have to pick less embarrassing stories to tell about the kids, since they are in this awkward stage.

HELE Project

How ironic, I couldn't find a family picture with all of us having camera eye contact, so I had to do this in a rush using photoshop. This is the family picture my son submitted as part of his HELE project. I'm not good with Photoshop yet, but with this kind of project requiring the use of photoshop, I think I can get by. IMO, I did a good job. ^_^ Start of the week was really toxic, I had to help Josh do 2 HELE projects, while his Library Research Report is also due. Thanks to the on-off internet connection, it takes a while to do research....haaaayyy =(
