I've finally uploaded the photo, so here it is. That is the kind of style I really wanted in the first place. I've longed for that style for a month now and I finally got it after having 2 trips to the salon. My favorite stylist was not around, I totally forgot the her day off falls on a Wednesday. The other stylist even asked me if I was really sure that I wanted her to do my hair. Like duh, I wouldn't make an appointment in the first place if I wasn't sure. Maybe it's out of respect to my stylist that's why she was not confident enough to touch my hair. Well I understand, but it's still up to the client you know.

New Look Again!

I had another haircut again, lol. Honestly I really wanted a shorter haircut but the hairdresser found it too short. In other words he was able to convince me not to have the style I had in mind. N really knew that I wanted it shorter, so he kept on bugging me to have another haircut. He said a shorter one would fit the frame of my face. So this afternoon, I made an appointment with Salon de Manila to have a haircut. My stylist wasn't there but that did not stop me from having shorter hair. I'm too tired to upload pictures, maybe tomorrow, all right?

I'm back to business, doing nail art that is. I miss doing it. The last time I did my nails was like eons ago. I was really pretty much into it before, like changing nail art every week. But suddenly I felt really lazy, probably because I have run out of ideas. Yeah I have a nail art magazine where I can copy designs. But i'm not that good really and most of the designs were complicated. I can do it with my left hand, but what about my right hand? Tendency is, the design gets crooked or something. Again I'm not a pro, but at least I can do it on my own. It looks neat from afar, but don't look closely, you will be disappointed ^_^.

That pic was taken last Thursday when we had dinner at Serendra. We actually had a baptismal coverage on that day. Before leaving the house, N was saying something like, what if we bring your car so we can have a drink or two. I was like what? I won't be drinking? I couldn't find one that looks good on me. I ended up buying this peep toe instead. It looked really nice on my feet. And you know what? My friendship with Thess all started by leaving comments in each other's blog. I don't exactly remember when, but I think it's in 2005. We frequent each other's blog for updates with what's happening in our lives. Then we took a step higher by E, we would exchange E once in a while reaching about 16, like a pingpong ball. It's fun exchanging emails with her. We would talk about our being "pro"bloggers, talk about the opportunities we grab, share each other's discoveries about "pro"blogging, and even the companies that offer bloggers to earn. She is not at all selfish, in fact she would E me on what's the latest in "pro"blogging. Today we took another step, we both added each other in YM and we finally heard each other. I think we talked for a good one hour, if not more. Her voice is as melodious as her singing (she's posted a number of songs in her blog), she sounded sweet, happy and funny. I had a nice time with her today, and I really hope to meet her in person some day. She authors 3 blogs, a personal blog, photoblog and food blog.

Busy, Busy, Busy

January is a really busy month for us. It is the time of the year we frequent the various City Halls around the Metro. If you want to avail of a discount with the real property taxes you are paying, then you should do it during the first quarter of the year. And I am talking of a 20 percent discount. Gosh that is big moolah! It is also during this time that we renew our business permits. You can just imagine the long lines, but really I've been used to it already. If you ask me all about red tape, sorry I don't do that, well as much as possible.

I am so looking forward to go the the Manila City Hall. Not because I get excited falling in line, hell NO! It's because there is a Mall across it and I can kill time by window shopping. Window Shopping it is, remember, I'm a rehabilitated shopaholic. Beh!

At first I did not totally understand my friend when she said she had to leave her car in the parking lot to take the train to get to her office. I was like why are you doing that? Is there no parking space allotted for employees? Or couldn't you find parking somewhere near your office? She said there are, provided you come early. And if ever you find one, it's like paying for a piece of gold. That's the way in San Francisco, New York and even in London. So now I understand why people look for a London Garage for Rent. And I understand too that houses or flats in London do not really have a garage, I read that in a book. They also face the same problem, like my friend. They'd rather rent a parking space, so that anytime they get in, there's always a space for their vehicles. And I heard too that it would be a lot cheaper if they rent the garage on a long term basis, rather than paying on a day to day basis. Yeah come to think of it, it's best to have a permanent space to park your cars. Imagine yourself on the go every time, like do a client call somewhere, then go back to the office. How much parking fee are you going to spend in a day? Plus of course you are not sure if there are still available spaces when you get back? But when you rent your own parking slot, it will save you a lot of hassle. Come on, think it over!

Nice Time

Once again my day started early. Nope not from watching movie that early. I had to go back to DTI to get another business permit. I should have done it over the web, but hey I want to go to Makati or I want to go out of the house for that matter. Anyway, Nelson accompanied me. He patiently waited at the parking area. Maybe he got bored a little so when he saw that there was a branch where we go for facials, he had his face done. I was done by 1 in the afternoon. It was still early so we decided to watch a movie (National Treasure) at Greenbelt after we picked up the lens he left at the Canon Center for repair. It's nice to go out once in a while with hubby, minus the kids.

The City of Lights

I have yet to hear someone who has gone to Paris and not like it. Everybody seems to like this City of Lights. I've only seen it in movies and some television shows yet I find it really beautiful, how much more if I visit the place. My husband has been there a few years back, it was actually work related. I could have gone with him, but at that time the kids were still young and I just did not have the heart to leave them with their nannies. For now, I am just contented looking at the photos my husband took and his description of this beautiful city. But he promised to bring me there some day.

I think my daughter would even see Paris ahead of me. In two years time she will be graduating from high school, and her paternal aunt promised to gift her with Tours in Paris. She is looking forward to it already, even telling me that it won't be that long since the days come and go pretty fast. By then I will be helping them with their itinerary. I always go to the web whenever I make itineraries. I don't know, but I have always been successful in choosing the places to visit, things to do, etc based on my readings. 10 Years Younger

That was how I looked when I attended the concert last Saturday. When my son saw me, he was like "Wow! You look 10 years younger Mom! It's probably the clothes that you wear." And I said really? So you want me to dress up like this all the time? I was expecting for a big YES, but here's what he said. "Nah, I don't think so. I want you to be simple." Boo! This son of mine is quite conservative, but he knows how to appreciate though. While in the car on the way to the concert, we talked about him. N said that he thinks Josh would be quite strict with the woman in his life. I think he is, with his remarks and comments he should be getting someone who is really submissive. I hope that is just for now.

My Soda Free Challenge Update

I started this soda-free challenge on December 19, 2007. And i'm mighty proud to say that I've been quite successful. I don't crave for COKE anymore. Since the 19th of December, I've had four "soda-free not" days. I've had soda on the second day since the challenge started. I totally forgot about the challenge honestly. I remembered it only when the glass was half empty. I had soda on Christmas and New Year. I don't think there is an explanation for that. With so much food, who does not need soda? Right? Right! lol Last Sunday (jan 6) was an exception again. We attended a wedding and I developed allergies with the food I ate. I had to go to the nearby drugstore to purchase medicine. While waiting for the medicine to take effect, I had to have sugar, so soda it is!

Baby Slings

Can you see how comfortable a baby can get when in baby slings? Too bad I didn't know about these baby slings/pouches when I had my kids. Had I known, then I will be the first one to use it. This is really a funny conversation that happened between me and my son Josh plus our driver. We were cruising Makati Avenue on our way home from Rockwell.

Driver: Ma'am di ba dati one way ito? (This used to be one way)

Me: OO (yes)

Driver: Naalala ko nung isang wedding coverage namin ni Sir. Pinasok namin to, hinuli kami ng pulis. Buti mabilis mag-isip si Sir. Sinabi sa pulis late na sya sa kasal nya. Buti nalang naka americana sya. (I remember passing this street, the policeman stopped us and told us that it's one way. Good thing Sir immediately thought of something. He told the police that he was getting married and he was late already. Good thing he was wearing a suit.)

Josh: Mom, you didn't get offended when you heard that story?

Me: Why should I?

Josh: You know Daddy committed adultery.

When Will I See Rome?

My husband has been talking about Rome a lot lately. Since he befriended a priest, he is pretty much convinced that he should visit Rome. I'm already excited! We are going to watch the concert of Lani Misalucha at SMEX Convention Center tonight. When N found about it yesterday on TV we immediately went to MOA to buy tickets. He is an avid fan of Lani, in fact he wanted to watch her show in Vegas when we were there. It will be a night filled with beautiful music, they said it is an hour and a half. Desperadas

I had a pretty hectic day yesterday. I woke up early to get ready for our annual cousins day. Since I can't use my car (color coding), I asked our driver to bring me to my aunt's house. I am to ride with my cousins going to Serendra. We had lunch at Abe, and the food was really awesome, no wonder it's very hard to get a table on peak hours. We didn't get to spend the whole day with each other, but with the short time we had, it was all fun. I posted a picture at my other blog.

Late in the afternoon, I got an sms from Chairman Vanidosa asking if we can watch Desperadas with our 2 girls. Even if I had a slight headache that time, I still went because I really wanted to watch that film plus I wanted to be with Cuz. I really miss her a lot. Ever since she became the Chairman of her barangay, we hardly see each other. So every invitation I get from her, I grab. We had fun watching the movie, it was kinda hilarious.

It's Just Different

Why do we always become lazy after the holidays. I don't know if you experience that, but I do. I just want to stay in bed the whole day and do nothing but sleep. It's probably because of the activities done during the holidays that our bodies are starting to shout "Hey! Give me a Break!" Well I was able to do that today. I woke up at 11 in the morning, and if not for a 2 pm appointment with the doctor, I could have stayed the whole day in bed. I'm thankful to God that I can at least do that, like stay in bed as long as I want. I remember the time when I was still doing the 8-5 job, I had to drag myself out of bed and report for work on the 2nd. Now I realized that it sucks big time ^_^. Now that's one of the perks of being a stay-at-home MoMMa! Yahoo!

Reunion on New Year's Day

New Year's Day was spent in the house of my Auntie Glo. We had a family reunion. (my dad's side of the family) As usual food was overflowing, more than enough for everyone. We actually expected more guests, since my aunt invited more relatives. I brought a big tray of california maki, no I did not make it but I ordered it at Cold Storage. It was yummy! We had so much fun, games were prepared by my other cousins (2nd cousins). Darn The Ferrers either won 2nd or 3rd.
