We went to Tagaytay on Good Friday to have lunch. Surprisingly there was not much traffic along South Super Highway. I was not expecting traffic to be this light because compared to the previous years where there was really much traffic. Good thing my SIL made reservations, if not we would be able to have lunch maybe at half past two. Yeah there were a lot of people waiting outside the restaurant when we got there. Much as we wanted to spend more time and talk over lunch, we couldn't afford to do that in consideration with the others who were waiting outside. It was a good trip though it would have been nicer if we were able to drop by Java Jazz, our favorite coffee shop.

Micro SD for Mobile Phones

If not for the micro sd that I have, I would have ran out of beautiful photos. I am talking about our China trip. Good thing I brought with my mobile phone, so I was a bit relaxed. It could very well work as an alternative when I ran out of memory in my digital camera. What I love about having a bigger external phone memory is that I can store music and numerous photos. I don't want to be limited, so I am really very happy that some companies have come up with sd cards. Amazing what technology can do to make life more enjoyable.

My Kind of Fitness

I am interested in this Kettlebell workout I found online. Imagine you only spend 20 minutes three times a week, that makes just an hour a week of workout. Now I want to do their 6 week body transformation program. As I mentioned in my other blogs, I gained something like 10 pounds when I quit smoking some three months ago. I really need to keep my body fit. I am not getting any younger. I want to maintain the kind of body I have, not much for aesthetic side but health wise though. I think this is the kind of program I need since I get easily bored doing long fitness routines. It looks cool and fun to me.

Not that I am not comfortable with the bed that we have at home, I just want to try and experience what other people are saying about how comfortable it is to lie down and sleep on a sleep number bed.

Still Waiting

How do you like my nail art? I saw this design in one of my nail art magazines. I just copied the design and did my best so it would look like the one in the magazine. I think I did quite well, but it's still a little messy. Hopefully when the set of nail polish I ordered from ebay arrives, I will be able to do more justice to the designs I copy. I am so excited already. Can't wait to change the design on my nails now, after all it's been what? two weeks?

Can't wait to get hold of all these nail polish. I won't change brushes now when I do my nail art, because each of the tube comes with this special brush that is easier to manage.

I Love San Diego

If you have plans of visiting the US, please include San Diego in your itinerary. I've been there in 2005 and I can say I like the place. Too bad we didn't have time to explore the whole place. I didn't get to see much, but with the little that I saw, I really appreciated the place. I find it scenic, with all the greens and everything. I promised myself that the next time I'll go visit the US, I'll make sure that I will definitely visit San Diego again. There are a lot of affordable San Diego CA hotel around, well that is if my friend cannot accommodate me.

One Day to Go

Just one more day left, tomorrow Saturday. Come Monday kids are already off school. Yeah, summer vacation for them already. Ooopsie, not for Ish though, coz she is not officially off school. Monday will be the start of her college entrance review and it will run until the end of the month. She'll be off Grace the whole of April but half of it will be spent at MSA for the other college entrance review. Poor Ish, quite hectic for the summer. Josh is happy...you already know why. Stress-free as he calls it. He can play video games the whole day. Oh wait, I need to include fitness in his schedule. Good he agreed to use the treadmill everyday, for 30 minutes at least.

Smoking Update

Haha maybe I should consider taking this Solo Slim already. If this is the only one that can put a stop to my cravings then I should consider taking. I am really scared now, if I don't put a stop to all these I might end up fat one of this days which I don't really like. Just thinking about it makes me shiver. I don't know why or what made me indulge in eating, I know it's a bad habit. I've been there before and I was able to put a stop to it. Maybe it's because I quit smoking, so that explains all the eating. What do you think?

I Should Stop the Food Trip

A lot have noticed that I really gained weight. My belly dancing teacher was the one who told me that I was indeed putting on weight. I was in denial for quite a bit because I hate to hear it. But of course I knew that I put on weight, I can feel and I can see it. I think I put on something like 8 pounds and if I don't stop binging on food, I might need to look for an effective diet product. Yeah I am not kidding, I need to cut on my food intake if I don't want to end up being a "biggie".

The Engineer in the Family

My father-in-law have been in the construction business for quite some time now. Through the years, he has been able to purchase all the necessary equipments used in building houses. He has a pool of workers, and he just hires an architect to do the drawing. He is personally supervising the construction. He takes care of all the supplies including the very important industrial clamps. It really amazes me how he is able to understand everything, to think that he is not even an engineer. I can say that everything is based on self study and experience.

Coastal Scents Palette

You can call it my latest addiction. I first heard about Coastal Scents from Krisa. I think she saw it in one makeup tutorial she watched at Youtube. She liked it so much and was convinced that the product is really nice. One consideration is the price too. Imagine for an 88 pc eyeshadow palette, it costs me only P1,100 which is a little over $21.95 which is the current market price of this product in the US. I already bought 2, the 88 pc eyeshadow palette and the 78 pc combination eyeshadow/blush palette. I've used it a couple of times already and I was able to convince my dancing buddies (well not really convince since they saw the effect on my face) to purchase it. Good thing it is available here in the Philippines from some ebayer, so it's not a problem. Now I'm searching for very good brushes. I want those MAC brushes but I just can't afford it. I'm trying to find a very good alternative though. I wish we had Loew Cornell brushes here coz I heard from those youtubers that they are really good.

When I saw these tv stands I got excited and at the same time sad. I want to pick from that collection but I don't think it's feasible at the moment because we don't need one. But really I love all the designs that I saw. I was even seeing a picture of it sitting in this part of our house, oh no why am I imagining things. It only goes to show that I am in love with the pieces that I saw. It's something that I really want to put in the house. It's a piece of art, not just a tv stand.

More Facts

I am again misinformed, or should I say I haven't really done my assignment to read. I have always regarded menopause as a reason for vaginal dryness. Yes it is one but it is not the sole reason. I have found out that excessive exercise, chemotheraphy, prescription drugs, breastfeeding, ovarian dysfunction among others can also cause dryness. I hate it when sometimes I feel stupid. That is why I am very happy when I learn something new, like today.

How Much Electricity Does a laptop use? Yeah I wonder how much electricity my laptop uses. I turn it on the moment I wake up, and normally it stays on until the hour I sleep. I must be using too much electricity. Now why did I not think of that? I should be turning it off especially if I take naps, or having my meals. Well I don't know, I don't know which to follow anymore. I read somewhere than turning a gadget on and off often uses a lot of energy that is why I seldom turn my gadgets off. I have to read more on this topic so I would know what to do.

Memories

Litratong Pinoy, you bring back fond memories. I grew up loving Curly Tops. I remember this being distributed among us siblings after dinner. Nope, not everyone gets one especially if you don't finish your food or if you haven't touched your veggies portion. Yeah military rule, that's my Mom and Dad. It's either curly tops, serg's chocolates or van houten. I remember getting this as price, for being a good girl, haha. Quite a nice incentive huh. So what incentive do we give our kids now? Do we still need to bribe them? Once in a while I do, but knowing how kids are nowadays, I don't think that works.

I come from a family with history of asthma. Among all siblings, I am the one who has it. I am indeed the favorite of my Dad, even his being asthmatic was passed on to me. I am just a bit sad because both my children have asthma. It's a good thing I had this air purifierwhich really helped a lot during asthma attacks. Blankets to Keep You Warm

I wonder if my sisters have this heated blanket. Winter can really get nasty, especially if they are not still used to it. Well I don't think anybody can get used to winter. It's hard. It can be fun at the first fall of snow because it can really look magical. But aside from that almost all complain how cold it gets. I can just imagine how you can sleep soundly when the climate gets really cold. It's very uncomfortable. Good thing there are stuff that can keep you warm like those heated blankets.

My Tuesday

As usual I woke up early (5:30 am) to help my daughter get ready for school. At about 6 I already went online. I did what I had to, you know what I mean. I was not even half way on my tasks, I felt tired and sleepy so I took a nap. It was just a short one coz I suddenly remembered that I had to dye the roots of my hair. Darn these stupid gray hair. It's ugly if I don't cover it. Since I have to do it every month (if I am not lazy) I looked for a product that won't do much damage to my hair. Now I'm using henna, I normally buy it in Greenhills and it's pretty cheap huh. It works well with my hair and it leaves a shine. Now I have the energy to fix my hair coz it does not look crappy anymore.

Now I know the reason why there is a boom in the Arizona real estate. Don't blame me why I'm a bit ignorant about some States in the US, I just live thousand of miles away from it. Anyway, I found out that Arizona has really very nice climate. It does not get that cold during winter and it has a fabulous summer. I've known a lot of people who whine about winter in America especially if it goes down negative. It's time to move to Arizona, now I can tell them. If only I had relatives who live in Arizona, maybe I can pay them a visit so I can get to experience what it is to live in this beautiful state with a very fine climate.

Am I Ready to Go?

Because of all the wonderful things I've read about this riviera maya honeymoon destination, I am intrigued. It's like I want to pack our bags and head straight there. I really need time to relax now, away from all these frenzy. I am a bit tired and I need to recharge. I know, I'm quite ambitious for choosing that destination, but who knows. The place is just enticing. Just thinking about the long stretch of white sand beach, overflowing drinks, beach beds where I can stare at the ocean all day long, good food, and of course spending it with the man you love...aahh, this is life. Now you can see why this place is called the perfect honeymoon destination. oh it's not just for honeymooners, but for everyone who is in love, and for those ones too who has fallen out of love. This may be the chance to renew and think about everything.

10 PM Curfew

It's time for change! Well for me at least. I'm gonna start off by improving on my sleeping habits. If you know me well, I'm a true blue night owl, a nocturnal. Not that I am wide awake at night or something, but I can stay awake until 3 in the morning. Not anymore! One day I just decided to just sleep at 10, or should I say, I should stop what ever I'm doing (surfing the net) by 10 pm. It's been 3 weeks I think and I like it. I don't feel tired in the mornings. I feel that I am well rested although for now I am still not getting the 8 hour sleep that I want. It's because I wake up at 5 am to tend to my daughter. I only have one helper now, and if I won't help her get ready for school, she's going to be late for class. I don't take naps too, coz I will find it hard to sleep early. I hope I get all the benefits of getting enough sleep, health and beauty wise.

I'm at a loss when it comes to diet pills. With a lot of diet pills in the market today, I don't know anymore which ones really work. Plus the fact that I am not yet into it since I don't need it for now. But I have been reading reviews so that if anyone asks for my opinion, I can share my two cents worth. Well at least I can have a take or something like that. Well anyway, I read that Fenterdren lets you lose weight pretty quick. I think Fenterdren is included in the top 10 in all effective diet pill listings. Hhmm, I'll take note of that so when the time comes that I'll need it, I don't have to look anywhere.

Christian Books and More

My Dad used to read bible stories to us during our family altar. I was exposed to a lot of bible characters at a young age. I miss that, I mean the family altar. I remember being excited and I always looked forward to the stories. I wish I did that to my kids since I brought with me one of the Christian books we have at home. The one that my Dad used to read us stories. I think I was only about 4 when my Dad bought that book. I do regret now that I wasn't able to introduce family altar to my kids, but it's not too late. I can introduce them to Christian books since they both love to read.

Party Momma

While watching some makeup tutorials at youtube, I came across this vid that demonstrates how a faux hawk hairdo is done. I've been doing it to myself for 2 days now, one with curls and today it was tied in a bun. I went to collect rent today and "wore" my faux hawk bun. When the tenant saw me, she said something like this. "Galing ka ng party?" (Did you just come from a party?) I didn't know what to say and what to think as I was caught offguard. But I was more than amused than mad. This is actually the first time they see my "fixed". When I go collect the rental money monthly, I usually wear plain street clothes, in other words, I didn't have the "salon look", LOL. But today aside from the fact that I fixed my hair, I wore falsies too!

Not About to Say Goodbye

Since I have been wearing 3-4 inch high heels lately, I might already be suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. Why do I say that? Plantar Fasciitis is a painful foot condition in the heel and arch area, and normally I feel it in the morning when I wake up. Now I need to do something about it because I am not about to give up wearing my heels. I feel sexy in them. Good thing I came across a website that have products I can wear at night. I only I live in America, I would do that. I'd love to put to practice my love to do people's faces. I think I can handle the job, or should I still view makeup tutorials over at youtube. I Knit!

I started this knitting project 2nd week of December I think. I'm proud to say that I finished it in just 2 days. I can actually do it in one sitting, but knowing me, I'm such a multi-tasker. Anyways, my daughter was able to wear it already when we went to Tagaytay. It was a bit colder there compared to Manila, so she found this a great opportunity to wear it. I don't know if it helped her get warm, or is it just because of fashion. Whatever it is, I know my daughter is happy that I made her a beanie.

The Makeup Artist in Me

I was requested by my MIL to do the makeup of the bride who is her neighbor. The bride actually worked for us in our 1-hr photo developing some years back. That's the reason why I was excited and very willing...just returning the favor if I may say. I actually didn't have second thoughts when my MIL informed me, in fact I was very excited to do her makeup. This is not the first time my MIL requested me to do someone's makeup. My first "client" was a contestant in a singing contest, and she won first place. Well not because I made her prettier, but because she had a beautiful voice, LOL. I think I am made to do hair and makeup for free. Yep I didn't charge them ^_^. Anyways, can this be the start of a new career? The hubs says NO WAY. With this I will continue to do it for free then! I was not only the makeup artist for that day, I was the unofficial photographer too.

Interesting Home Businesses

I am a stay at home Mom right now and I am loving every minute of it. I have time to take care of my growing kids. At first I was not used to the idea since I had been working for some 8 years already. I admit I missed it a lot, but after some time I was very thankful to be staying home. A lot of my friends have convinced me to have a home business since they think that the kids are already grown up. Grown up in the sense that they "need" me less. Actually I have been thinking about having my own home business lately, this way I can help the hubs augment the family income and at the same time I can be there for the family. Good idea, right?

Christmas Eve

We had a very simple Christmas Eve Noche Buena at home. Our noche buena consisted of Chinese Ham, 3 kinds of cheeses, baked macaroni, grapes, french cookies with strawberry jam, a bottle of red wine and some spritzer for the kids. When the kids came down, they were like, is that what we are having only? You see, they were so used seeing plenty of food on the table, well that was like last year and a few years before that. Yeah, I prepared a lot, more than what we can finish. But this time, I only prepared a few since I was really very very tired. I baked 16 loaves of banana bread to be given away. I didn't have enough energy to cook some more for the night's noche buena. I wanted to give my relatives some freshly baked banana bread. I will just make up this coming New Year's Eve. My Mom and the rest of the gang will be spending it with us. This will be a lot of fun, fun in the kitchen too!

Queen of the Kitchen

I'm not really into baking and stuff, but lately I want to learn how to bake. I've done cookies, but that's about it. Last night, I tried my hand at making banana pineapple bread, a recipe from my Mom. I enjoyed doing it especially that it turned out ok. Yeah it's my first time to make it and I can say that I was pretty successful. The hubs had it for breakfast, and the verdict? He said it was yummy. Now I am inspired to try my hand at baking other cakes or perhaps some cupcakes which is the favorite of my daughter. But the thing is, I don't have the necessary pans and all. I started looking for one and I found this circulon steel elite really impressive. It's a non-stick bakeware. Now I want to own all the bakeware, and the roaster included since I roast chicken all the time. Oh now I'm getting excited, I love the smell of baked goodies. Or to borrow my son's dialogue, "I am not fat, I am just well fed."

Are You Ready to Celebrate?

Who's reading for the Christmas Eve celebration? I am not yet that ready since I need to prepare a lot more stuff for our "noche buena". I didn't prepare much this time, I think we're just having ham, 3 kinds of cheeses, some red wine, baked chicken wings and baked macaroni and grapes. That is not much, considering we had a lot last year. Well I learned my lesson, we don't get to finish everything that we prepared. I haven't finished baking banana pineapple bread to be given away. I've done 6 so far, and need to do 10 more. I will be making it in a little while and hopefully be able to finish it before tomorrow. Good I'm done with shopping, I was out yesterday and the mall was just full. You can barely move. It's been this way all these years, and seems like everyone didn't learn their lesson, me included...bleh.

I never really thought of getting a travel insurance whenever we go out of the country. Maybe I was just not familiar with the benefits I'll get whenever I have one. But now that I know, I must make it a point to get one whenever we travel. It can compensate with whatever hassles I might have when traveling. The Birthday Boy

We had two celebrations for my son's 13th birthday. Initially he wanted to celebrate it at Friday's, but since the olds do not want it there, we opted for a chinese restaurant instead. This was done a day prior to his birthday. We feasted on all his favorite dishes.

We surprised him with a Friday's treat right on his birthday. Of course wish granted for our little big boy. Again, he had all he wanted, including some time at Timezone.

I'm really proud of my son. He's grown up to be a fine young man, a son any mother can wish for. He has his moods, but generally he's a very sweet boy. He says his piece, but he does not sound rude at all. He has his moments though, like any kid would have, but he is not difficult. We love you son!

Anything Baseball

Who among you love baseball? I guess everyone does. It's an exciting game, and it's fun to watch too if you are not playing. It would be a wonderful activity for the kids too. As much as possible, we want our kids to indulge in sports. It is a very good exercise, and by playing one can develop sportsmanship. It's a great way to interact with others too. I'd love to have my kids attend a baseball clinic or something. But if there's none, they can always learn by themselves, well at least the basics. There are a lot of baseball equipment for sale, including Baseball Gloves. When I checked on their products a while back, I really got interested with the pitching machine. It's cool, you can practice anytime, and you can really develop your batting skills. I think this is fun. But of course it would be nice if you get proper training too.

Bibingka (Rice Cake)

Yay! The hubs drove all the way to Tomas Morato (about 20 minutes away from our house without traffic) just to have my bibingka (rice cake) fix at 9 in the evening. He seldom drives nowadays, well except when he goes biking, he does not have a choice since our driver brings the kids to school. Good thing he didn't get lazy that night, otherwise I would have driven myself which would be a big mistake since I just recuperated from flu. Actually I still had terrible cough and colds that night but minus the fever, so I declared myself well just to have that bibingka fix, haha. It tasted really good, different from all the rice cakes that I've tasted. If you want to have the original Ferino's bibingka, you should look for that signage, unless you want to buy from their franchise.

I'm No SuperWoman

I'm down with a flu. Being down with a flu doesn't mean that I can't go online, staying in bed is boring after all. I know I am stubborn, and I am to take the much needed rest. Don't worry, even if I went online the whole of yesterday, I took naps in between. Now I feel a little better, except that I seem to bark like a dog every now and then. I remember back in high school when Wayfarer sunglasses were so in. It was like everyone wants to own one. Everywhere you go, you see people wearing it. I had a pair too and I remember it was a black one. I wonder where it is now, so I don't have to purchase again since the Wayfarer sunglasses is back. The Big Day for the In-laws

The big day for my in-laws has finally come last Saturday. After 44 years of being together, they were finally wedded in Church. It was a beautiful ceremony, everything was just beautiful and it was a dream come true for my MIL. My SIL and I helped with the preparations. I was assigned to do some things, and the rest she took care of. Part of the program was a surprise dance number from me and my kids. It wasn't really a surprise seeing us dance with my daughter, but for my son everyone was surprised even the couple. It was my son's first time to dance in public. He would dance in the confines of his room with only us watching him. He would watch videos at YouTube and would copy their dance steps. I'm really so proud of my son for being able to dance that well.

A Great Christmas Present

Uh oh, Christmas is just a few weeks away and I haven't done any shopping yet. Poor me! A lot of things (important) came up lately and I just had to help some of my relatives get it over and done with. Finally it's done and I can now take care of my shopping list. Goodness, my kids haven't handed me their list yet, I'm sure there will be lots. Every year it seems like the list is growing, must be added friends huh. Anyway, I have a lot of ideas to give as presents to my godchildren for Christmas and this includes probably NFL Jerseys. I'm sure my nephew will be glad to have it for Christmas. The people here are not big fans of this I think so I may have to scratch the idea. Or maybe I can start introducing them to football or something. What do you think? It would make great presents and the kids would look good in it. I wonder if my son would be happy to get one. He's not actually a fan of football, he's more of a basketball fan, but who knows? I actually find it nice seeing kids wear sports uniforms, football in particular. I love the style, I can wear one too you know. I'm not a hip and cool Mom for nothing, haha.

Hot Choco

We don't need to go to Starbucks anymore to have hot choco. I finally decided to introduce my kids to "tablea". I remember having this every night when I was a kid. My mom would always make us one. It's yummy and it's fattening, hehe. I allow my kids to drink like twice or thrice a week only, given the choice they would want it everyday. They also want to mix this chocolatey thing on their biko (glutinous rice). I'm happy that now they know how to appreciate native delicacies.

The Search for a Luggage

I don't know which luggage to choose! I am actually in search of a nice luggage so that I don't need to borrow when all four of us travel. My two kids do not have their own luggage and it's about time I buy them. Normally when we travel, I put in all the stuff for the three of us in one luggage, and I do all the packing. Now I need to teach them how to pack for themselves. They can no longer give me the common excuse "Mom, can you do it for me since we are using your luggage" kind of thing. Having their own luggage will teach them the responsibility of having to pack. And if I may say, I am already tired of having to pack and take care of their belongings.

It turned out more cheaper if I buy from Ebay US than here. Here it sells almost P6000 while I only got it at Ebay for like P3,100 shipping included. Big difference right? Oh I just love my new needles. I actually like it better than my existing straight needles. The interchangeable ones are less stressful to the wrist probably because it's so much lighter. Special Flowers for Dad

I finally did it! I made this special arrangement for my Dad on All Souls Day. It's actually a first for me, actually doing it by myself without any help. I woke up early that day to go to the flower market to buy some fresh flowers. It took long to arrange 4 pots. But I was really happy with the results. I'm gonna make one for him again next year. It's actually cheaper than buying pre-arranged flowers especially during this time. I spent about P600 for all the flowers and leaves I needed, including the pots and floral foam.
